Duke is so bad ass he transcends the need for a physical form.

DUKE IS BACK!
Cue swoosh to cool title screen
The most unstoppable hero since the Juggernaught in super-slowmo.
Cue scene of duke jumping from a balcony firing wildly into a group of aliens
Join Duke as he blasts his way through every existence as they destroy the earth... AGAIN.
Cue scenes of first person action of shooting aliens.
Brought to life with the latest technology, we guarantee that this game will have the best technology of the time. It's taken us a long time to catch up, but we're nearly there.
Cue montage of ever improving graphics of duke.
Coming tomorrow, Duke Nukem Forever!
Cue scene of duke standing on a pile of rubble in front of a post apocalyptic city landscape full of burning buildings as he says,
"This world just refuses to die."

I bet Gearbox's developers have had a lot of laughs and a lot of frustration on seeing what the DNF code looks like.

Gearbox is developing not one, not two, but three "secret" games, along with DLC4 for Borderlands, "Claptrap's New Robot Revolution!"
One of those secret projects inexplicably includes a trademarked "Z-Day" term.
I guess one of them -could- be DNF, but...  13 years?  Implications, implications...

Well, vaporware has been finished by other companies before. Bethesda took over from Van Buren to make Fallout 3, tossed Van Buren's work in the garbage and started from scratch, and then the game actually came out.

I bet Gearbox's developers have had a lot of laughs and a lot of frustration on seeing what the DNF code looks like.

Sure, if by "took over from Van Buren" you mean bought the Fallout license after Van Buren had already been canceled and made a totally unrelated game called Fallout 3... :P

I'm pretty sure thats exactly what he means, and what he suspects Gearbox may be doing.

If the game was gonna have a demo by the end of the year, screenshots would be forthcoming. Even if it was just a wall of code.

Considering the only information on the game came out three days ago, it's probably going to look like something from '97. I want to believe there's a decent game in this, even if Gearbox basically does a Borderlands mod, but I'm holding no great hopes for it.

Funny, aren't we always going back to old games?

This time an old game is coming to us! (maybe)
