Okay, here goes my first RTD. Well...
On a perfectly normal-seeming day in a perfectly normal-seeming world, something smashes into the Earth. All the patients at Happiness Hospital, in the imaginatively named city Townston, are suddenly cured. Other things probably happened, but you don't know about them.
The location of the object: 250 miles away from Townston.
You are one of the many people at Happiness Hospital on the day of the impact. The lights are flickering, you hear yelling from outside, and the coffee maker just broke.
Rolls will be 1d12 each. 6 or less is a failure (the lower, the worse), 7 or greater is a success (the higher, the better). Very simple actions will automatically succeed.
Each character needs the following:
*Name: first and last, middle is optional.
*Appearance: just because.
*Background: keep it realistic and relatively simple. This will give you some bonus to some sort of rolls, and possibly a free item.
*Position: Are you a staff member (if so, what kind) or a patient? This will effect items and give bonuses to staff rolls. Patients will get larger bonuses from backgrounds than staff members.
Characters:
Name: Johnny Bison.
Appearance: 6'2". Unremarkable. FABULOUS green eyes.
Background: Martial arts enthusiast. (+1 to close combat rolls)
Position: Patient. Lost his left hand, replaced with a badass metal hand.
Items: Hospital gown, badass metal hand (cannot be removed, cannot be dropped)
Name: Jimmy Johnson
Appearance: 6'8", Strong, Bald, missing an inciser.
Background: Casual strongman. (+1 to rolls involving moving or taking heavy items) Mechanic. (+1 to repairing or constructing devices)
Position: Patient. Almost had his arm ripped off working.
Items: Hospital gown
Name: Derek Forode
Appearance: 5'11, Blond hair, green/brown eyes.
Background: Nuclear physicist. (+2 to nuclear SCIENCE!) Passing degree in Meta-Physics. (+1 to debating people)
Position: Patient. Near-Fatal dose of radiation poisoning.
Items: Hospital gown
Name: Aaron Kall
Appearance: 6'3", average build
Background: Air Force Veteran (Can pilot planes, -2 to piloting non-fighter planes)
Position: Security Guard. (+1 to grappling)

Appearance: 5'10, brown hair, glasses.
Background: Received his doctorate of psychology at age 25.
Position: Staff, hospital psychologist. (+1 to conversation-based rolls)

Appearance: slightly short, blue hair, red eyes,BEARD
Background: used to pull levers (+30 to pulling levers)... a disturbed past.
Position: staff,JANITOR (+1 to cleaning)

Appearance: 6'0, blackish brown hair, medium build.
Background: Kicked out of the force (+1 to legal knowledge, +1 to using guns, -1 to convincing police of anything) because of a drinking problem. (+1 to holding liquor)

Appearance: 5'8 short blonde hair, slender.
Background: Teenage Acrobat (+2 to acrobatics)
