Is there any way to get surgery done, without getting the 'surgeon cancels surgery: patient not resting' message?

Placing a table directly adjecent to the bed, prevents the job cancellation!
My surgeon is performing surgery properly, as I type this.

EDIT: New problem. Surgery keeps getting interrupted by another dwarf, grabbing the dwarf from the table while undergoing surgery, with a 'recover wounded' job.

Yeah, all of that is known buggery. I forget if there's a solution. Perhaps turn off recover wounded temporarily?

Yes, locking the dwarf in the room with the surgeon works. Make sure that the surgeon does not have the 'recover wounded' job enabled, or he will cancel his surgery job to recover the wounded
