Issue with Workshop Orders
« on: August 14, 2010, 08:13:30 pm »

I opened up the orders menu, and I went into Workshop Orders.

You see, I didn't want my kitchens to automatically render fat, so I thought I would turn off "Auto-Kitchen" by pressing "k".

Didn't work.

When I pressed "b", which would turn off "Auto-Butcher", it turned off Auto-Butcher, Auto-Kitchen, AND Auto-Fish Cleaning.

And the link for individual fish cleaning and kitchen don't work.

It's a little annoying, because I want my fish to be cleaned as they are caught, and my hunted animals to be butchered as they are killed, but I don't want all of my Kitchens to be rendering fat, just some of them.

Anyone have any idea why this is happening, or if I can fix it, or some kind of work around?

I guess maybe I could just forbid all my fat, but I don't really want to do that.

A potential workaround: Set up a render fat job at each kitchen you don't want to render fat at and suspend them.

Nevermind, it didn't work. When they hit the Suspended Fat, they just stop working on the kitchen. I guess I could promote the meal job every time.

When they hit a suspended job, the dwarves treat it like it isn't there and do the jobs below it.
