Help with resolution?
« on: August 14, 2010, 11:03:09 am »

So I just downloaded the game, and I'd rather have the windowed mode be a higher resolution. I've tried most of the things on the wiki, most of the time it either crashes or doesn't change anything.

I want to just use the basic ASCII, and my resolution is 1920x1080. Any help would be appreciated.

If your running DF2010 you can just widen the window by clicking and dragging the edges and corners like any other window.

Yes, you should always apply more magma.

You can also zoom in and out with the mouse wheel, and I think num pad +/- when no menu is active.

What is DF2010? Also, when I stretch the window, the actual game doesn't go with it. I just add more black space to the window.

In the menus that is all you will get, extra black space.  Try loading up a fort or going into adventure mode and resizing the screen, the game should add more tiles to the grid as you make the window larger.

DF2010 is the current version that you download from the main DF download page, 2010 is the nickname given to the version before anyone knew what version number it was going to be, and the name has stuck with a few people.

Just try it! Its not like you die IRL if Urist McMiner falls into magma.

maximize the window and then use your mousewheel to help fill the black space. The poster a few back is right, it doesn't always work at the menu screen but it should word when the fort is loaded.
