I've got your raws, I will playtest them and tell you my feelings :).

Okay, I officially now have five different copies of DF on my computer. This is getting out of hand.
Just FIVE? I have about 20 copies for Genesis, 8 copies for Wasteland mod and about 10-15 copies for other minor mods :P.

Well, this is my first mod, and what's more, I've only been working on it for like two weeks. Genesis, on the other hand, is the second longest thread on the modding forums.  ;D

Edit: Gondorians, your average humie.
Rohirrim, somewhat rarer and slightly stronger/more agile.
Rangers of the North, extremely rare and very skilled fighters.
Edit2: I'm probably done working on this for the week, bugfixes aside. I'm going to be playing instead, see how things are working together.

I've been working on a Middle Earth world using my own heightmap. If you're interested, I could provide you with the world gen settings once I'm finished.

There's already one around. I've put it here for now.

I forget who the author is, but the post is somewhere in the PerfectWorldDF topic.

Mikefictiti0us, your map looks awesome. Please finish and upload it. I am gathering a collection of mapscripts for Genesis mod too, so I would like to have it.

Heh, that would be mine. It uses an old heightmap that somebody found on a SimCity site. The version I posted above is completely custom and is much closer to the original map.

Deon, no problem. I've made a couple of others as well. Ultima fan?

YAAAY! A long time ultima fan. It's awesome. I was going to make a map of Sosaria in a distant future. You could guess it by hearing the Ultima Online music in the game. Me wants!

Seriously, you shouldn't amaze me that much before I am going to go to bed. Now I will drool all over the keyboard and stay online for another hour waiting for your mapscript :).

P.S.

Uhhh.... there's a chance my upload didn't fix the duplicate creature error. I know for a fact that it's fixed now, though.

If you've already got a game underway, and you aren't having problems, then by all means keep on keeping on. If you haven't started playing yet,  or are having weird issues, download the files again.

Edit: The elven fortress of Fordshaken is on the verge of death by dehydration. :(
Edit2: We lost two elves to thirst, bringing the death total to three. It's our first winter.
Edit3: Well, at least this is productive. I've identified and fixed five elf noble bugs so far.

Also, Black Lung works well. A bit.... too well. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Definitely makes me want to keep my elves out of the mines.

Huh, so black lung, after fleeing from Genesis, has found its place in Middle Earth mod? It's like a plague, it disappears but then comes again :).

Yeah, somebody referenced it in a different thread, I thought it was interesting, but put it aside.

Then, when I was contemplating how to discourage elven players from building dwarven-esque forts, I remembered it and threw it in. I didn't add the effect to anything until I was messing with Barrow Wights, and decided to just throw both syndromes in at once.

Edit: Look, you stupid halflings, I need to seize this stuff so I can test sieges. Don't you understand? I don't have a choice. I'm doing this for science.

Edit2: Everything you see here was built out of limestone. The red is blood coughed up as a result of Black Lung syndrome. Dude's dying all over my nice clean fortress.

Edit3: This guy is my favourite soldier ever.

Uhhh.... I think that humans are not, but I may have not put it in yet.
Edit: After double-checking, yes, it does affect humans.

The intention is for Black Lung to affect humans, and elves. Then, it leaves dwarves, hobbits, and orcs/goblins alone. I may end up changing things so it hits elves harder than humans.

Edit2: I wish "meet with random Wildman Diplomat "(trippy, right?) was higher on the job priority list than "carry wood around all day".
Edit3: Well, he finally got around to it. I wonder what a Wildman could have to say so badly? Probably something about burning and pillaging and rape.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Or..... not.

Edit4: I managed to capture both a goblin and orc thief. I thought maybe I could get them to kill each other, so I locked them in a room and released them from their cages. They both just sat there ignoring each other.

"Well, I guess I'll send in the military."
I unlocked the door, and both captives ran right past my soldiers and out the front gate.

Into more cage traps. Now what do I do with them?

Edit5: Seriously. I get a Wildman diplomat every other season. Getting annoying.

Version 0.13.2 Released.

Just some tweaks/minor changes. To whit:
Wildmen should be more, uh.... pillage-y now.
Fixed some elf noble issues, and created a  separate noble position for the broker.
Removed Kobolds and adamantine (which was still lingering around, despite the presence of Mithril)
Added separate Black Lung syndrome for humans- it won't affect humans as quickly as it will elves.

I'll probably get one or two more updates like this in over the weekend, then start back work on the main deal next week.

Edit: I'm going to be busier than I thought this weekend, so everything will likely get pushed back, especially since I've fallen into this romanticized vision of having creature graphics. That's mostly what I'm going to be doing for now. I'd like to playtest the hobbits some, and then get some experimenting in with some siege-scenarios. In all likelihood, I'll be testing all next week and not have any big updates.

Sucks, but I'd rather get it to be fun than finished.
