Runs dwarf fortress crazy well, hehe. I kinda want to upgrade my laptop and I don't use my tower much anymore. Been running the CPU at 3.4ghz with a 1600mhz fsb /below/ stock voltage for about a year with no issues. The cpu has 12MB of cache and all. Its a monster chip, about the fastest of the Core 2 chips and, overclocked, keeps up with the lower end i7s like the i7-920 pretty nicely. It will run at 4-4.5ghz on air. I just never wished to stress my $300 cpu that much :p My system with a 9800gtx video card, four 1tb hdds and 4gb ddr3-1600 idled at 90-100w and peaked around 250w. The chip isn't very power hungry.

I think I still have the retail box and I can sell it with my megahalems rev b cooler. Asking $250 for the pair or make me a reasonable offer.

im definetly interested in the chip, my e8400 is starting to show its age and i dont feel like buying a new board and ram yet. If you can hold it for a little bit i can get the pennies toghether
