VNV Nation is great stuff, love that guy. His songs are really depressing though.

However, "sad is happy for deep people", so it's a plus.

It's just interesting because his music has so much energy in it (FUCKING ELECTRONAUT!!!!!!!!!) but the lyrics make you feel like killing yourself. It's like putting hot sauce on ice cream, or something.

EBM has quickly become my favorite genre for pretty much that reason: It's something that you can move to in the clubs, but retains its value even when you're feeling contemplative and not particularly perky. Danceable music and lyrics of substance shouldn't be mutually exclusive musical qualities, imo.

It's also nice that bands like VNV, A23 and RiB are starting to get some play in American clubs; a musical changing of the guard would really revitalize my interest in the American club scene.

Ah, I knew I had heard Juno Reactor somewhere before.

Good stuff. I prefer their faster tracks though, the slow ones are a little...slow.

Well, Kraftwerk are entirely electronic, but my experience of electronic music is pretty limited.
