I'm socked! Nobody mentioned OpenTTD yet.

I know it's unrealistic, but I can't help but imagine little bearded babies for dwarves. In my mind, they come out of the womb fully bearded. That's how the mother carries them around, too, she just drags them around by the beard or ties it to her belt. When the father's on duty, he just ties their beards together and the baby just kind of hangs there, swinging to and fro with Urist McDaddy's movements.

They have.

OpenTDD, the concept has been aging very well.

Im probably the only person left who still plays the game daily on this forum, but nethertheless...

Spring and its related mods.

Probably enough info on the thread inplanted somewhere on the forum.

"Edit" Oh, forgot to type a quick descrition. Spring is the engine, and mods are like the "games". Its for RTS's. Maps are also downloaded seperately(custom made ones). It can work on the slowest connections, but can get CPU heavy. Finely, I recommend the BA mod, and perhaps the CA one(I havent played it yet).

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

I typed up a really nice guide on the BenOldingGames forum. It was put to waste, but I direct people there when they need help. Let me find it.

"Edit" http://www.benoldinggames.co.uk/benoldinggames.asp?SiteID=11&SectionID=0&PageID=346&ForumID=2&TopicID=57501

Should be it.

Someone mentioned the Resistance & Liberation Source mod, I can't remember where, and I could have sworn it was in this topic, but I don't see it.

Anyway, it's currently in beta, but very playable. It's a pretty realistic WWII infantry game. One thing about it, there's not a lot that tells you what's going on, so you have to stay alert and watch your teammates. There's no kill indicators, so you don't know if a teammate gets killed, and you can't really be sure if the enemy you just dropped is really dead(sometimes, you just get wounded and fall prone for a few seconds).

Iirc, the project started up as a way to get TA into a 3D engine, and expanded (a bit) from there. The major game played on it online is BA, which is basically TA + a few units (that were already in TA mods, so eh.) with an improved UI. It's a pretty solid piece of work, though, and some sorts of modding (UI, at least, is primarily via LUA) is supposedly fairly easy.

While I'm responding, I'll mention Liberation Army. To quote the translation's page, "Liberation Armyīs interesting. Itīs a hybrid of a bunch of genres -- war, strategy, shootemup, all in one. Itīs kind of what youīd get if you crossed the recent Dynasty Warriors titles with Super Robot Wars and threw a little Dodonpachi into the mix. Itīs definitely not an easy game, though." It's pretty fun for a run through, maybe two.
