Question about key bindings
« on: August 10, 2010, 06:55:30 pm »

Hi there. I have been trying to learn the art of playing dwarf fortress, but a small road but has really hindered my chance.

The guide I am reading to learn ( http://afteractionreporter.com/2009/02/09/the-complete-and-utter-newby-tutorial-for-dwarf-fortress-part-1-wtf/ ) says to ALT+ Down arrow to scroll though menus, but when I do so, nothing appears to happen.

I did some goggling and saw someone had a similar problem ( http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=46905.0 ) but when I tried the solution, I could not find the option in the key binding as there was tons and tons of them to short though. Any help in understanding what I need to do to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

For starters, you should be using the download the comes with that guide, which already has the key bindings set.
If you are, perhaps you are trying to use right alt? I don't know if that makes a difference, but it's always possible I guess.
anyway, the two keybindings you are looking for are secondary scroll up and down.

The two keybindings you are looking for are secondary scroll up and down.

And both of them are in the general section of the keybindings.
