Turn 35: Set is awakened, and he isn't exactly happy

I was actually hoping for a somewhat less confrontational way for Set to appear, but if you wanted him, he's here now.

Quote from: Earth Elemental
continue
[2]It apparently decides to stop right in front of the entrance, facing the entrance itself. However, it is now blocking the way inside.

GIvce myself a Phosphorescent apendage, and modify my eyes so that they have that thing the canines do(cant remember what it is called, but it reflects light back out of the eyes so it can be used again)
[2]You fail to create a bioluminescent appendage, let alone a bioluminescent spot, so you try enhancing your eyes instead. [5]You successfully enhance your eyes by giving it a reflective layer in the back which greatly enhances your night/low light vision.

(( :o ))

It shall be named The Bastion Of Reason. After thanking Hephaestus, Try to find the others.

((...so Torc is effectively immune to conventional head shots and mental attacks.))
You give it a name to be remembered for the ages, The Bastion of Reason, thank hephaestus for the godly inspiration.[5]Figuring that they would have gone in the direction of Sets temple, or maybe you saw someone go in that direction, so you head over there. Only to find that the rock spider of an earth elemental is blocking the way inside. Not wanting to get detected, you duck behind a large tree.

Well that was significantly less interesting than I had hoped for. I wanted to create some sort of Frankenstein situation.

Look around for a power button and/or manual.

[4]Searching around for a power button, you find what you think is a power button and press it. The machine slowly whirs to life, the monitors flickering as it boots up.

Destroy statue
((I checked wikipedia and the Statue of Liberty is 151 feet tall and plus the pedestal is 305 feet. THAT is how big this statue here is. Although I'm now wondering if I made the room TOO big.))
[3]Despite the statue being over 200 feet tall and not having any clue how to destroy it, you take your deceptive club and whack the foot of the statue, making a small dent in it.

Quote from: Set
Appear and ask what the hell does she think she is doing
As soon as she hit the statue, a hot wind swirls around the area while a shadowy form coalesces, grows to the size of the statue itself and finally takes the form of Set himself. Taking a moment to look around before speaking to Alethe in a booming, deep voice. "What are you doing to my shrine? If you wanted my attention, you didn't have to go and dent the statue." Then in a slightly less booming voice "Although I could care less about the dent than your transgression, given the state of this temple."

He stares at Alethe for a few seconds and booms again, "WELL!?!, ANSWER, CHILD OF A GREEK GODDESS!" Set is looking slightly ticked off.

in the direction that takes a shorter time, away!
[5]You head in the direction of the town that is four turns away with great gusto.

Go back up and search the other guys. Namely Alethe.
[5]You go back up to where the central chamber is and find Alethe at the base of the statue with the divine form of Set towering over her.

((That is one big statue. Also, motherfucker saw straight through my invisibility.))

Say: ' My apologies, great Set, I did not wish to disturb you. I was not aware this used to be your temple. It has been abandoned for some time.'

Really, really hope that the greek gods are still keeping an eye on me for that sacrifice.

Hmm... I wonder where LordInquisitor is at?

I'll go ahead and write up the turn while we wait. Not trying to rush LordInquisitor or anything.

Turn 36: The party gains a pack animal, sort of

If enough things happen to the earth spider, I'll probably give it full NPC status as an entity while still being under Torcs control.

Try to gain dominance over the earth spider using Earth magic (and Order if it would help).
[4][resist:1] You concentrate on earth magic and successfully gain control over it with barely any effort. There is virtually no resistance, if any, to your taking control of it. The elementals mind must be very simple. In any case, it is completely under your control now. However, it has basal intelligence, so if you tell it to move forward, it will move forward until it hits something or self preservation instincts kick in. One good thing about it is that it can be ridden by several people or even as a pack 'beast' of sorts. It's also combat capable. Like psychic control, magic domination can be resisted in certain situations, but because the intelligence of this elemental is so low, there is almost no chance of it breaking the control.

One problem though, its still blocking the entrance. At least you can crawl under/over it without fear of getting mauled.

Pull up any information that looks interesting.
[6]You try to pull up some information with a bit of trial and error. At one point, the screen rapidly scrolls through a bunch of information that you can barely even read, then it goes to a text menu showing various genetic experiments. The majority of the creatures you don't recognize, even when they all have an image attatched, but there is something that resembles one of the primate-like skeletons in the cage, it's labelled Sauroprimate.

[6] You calmly and with reverence, state ' My apologies, O Great Set, I did not wish to disturb you. I was not aware this used to be your temple. It has been abandoned for some time.' For a moment of piercing silence, Set didn't speak or move, then he boomed "True. This place has been abandoned for centuries, but not so long that even I forgot about it. However, are you so blind as to not see the great statue? I don't buy the fact that you weren't aware of this being my temple. You have Greek blood and you DO know of the historical feud between the Osirian and Olympian pantheons?", his eyes flaring red at saying my temple. "If your true intention offends me, I WILL DESTROY YOU!! Beware!, I have eyes and ears in every chamber and every hall of this temple!" With that, he vanishes in a gust of hot desert winds and dissipating vapor.

continue, readying my bow against random encounters,
[3]You grab your Jewelfire bow and ready it while continuing, however you walk somewhat slowly in cautiousness. The town/village is still 3 turns away though.

Random encounter roll: 1 AMBUSH

There is sudden movement in the underbrush as some creature moves and ambushes Drex. It is a strangely mutated catlike creature with four eyes, long tentacle like appendages hanging off its sides that are covered with feathers, and a set of insectile mandibles where the mouth should be. The rest of the creature looks like a large jaguar.

[Drex dodge:1][BP check:3][damage:4+1][counterattack:6][beast dodge:3][BP check:3][damage:4-1 (+1 from overshoot)(+2 from archery bonus]
Being surprised by the ambush, Drex doesn't even have time to dodge before the beast latches onto his right arm and rips the flesh down to the bone. His arm is bleeding badly, but is still useable. Drex counterattacks and fires an arrow at point blank range into the beasts right front leg. The arrow rips deep into the muscle and out the other side, causing it considerable pain, and piercing into the beasts gut, however its still latched onto his arm.

Mutated Beast
Health
Lower Torso: Arrow stuckin, guts punctured, mild internal bleeding.
Right front Leg: severe arrow wound, moderate bleeding.
Statuses: none

Explore the darkened room
[6]Taking a moment to let your eyes adjust, you find that with the adapted eyes, the room is well lit, enough to read by even. Inside are several tables with chairs, along the walls are large bookcases filled with books. The whole place seems rather neat for someplace that was abandoned for centuries, other than the dust that has collected anyways. So, you go ahead and check out the various books which range from topics on astronomy, astrology, a good deal of biology related books, history, to tomes on the magic arts, to gardening, mythological texts, among a good deal of others. After looking at the majority of the room, you notice a side room with a collapsed door, in which there is a desk and a row of bookcases that have locked iron doors in front of them. From the texts that you can see through the gaps in the diagonal bars and decorative elements, it looks like this section holds various important documents and other restricted access texts.

Throw my javelin at Set.

Perform a rune ritual of protection on me and then walk to alethe.
[2][1]((Sorry you got such bad rolls)) You try to do a rune of protection on you and can't even get the rune ritual to work properly. Sighing to yourself about it, you try to find Alethe, but since she is invisible, you just sort of wander around.

Edit: *Facepalm* I forgot about the archery bonus, also Dwarfguy2, which bow did you actually want to equip? You have two bows, the ordinary one and the Jewelfire bow. I'm assuming you armed yourself with the origional one for now.

So, do you want me to change the bow you're using on turn 36 to Jewelfire? You never actually specified which bow, so it's not an issue for me to change it.

Anyways, I'll go ahead and fix that up.

Tell the spider to move away from the entrance a bit. Then start forging some armor for the spider, infusing the armor with the element of wind.

((the spider needs a name anyone have any ideas?))
