Yes they are useable elements, although I'm not exactly sure how I would apply them here. You can also use the one in the middle, which is Life.

I had actually wanted to put more in there, but couldn't decide on any good ones that would fit well here.

Anyways, waiting on Wolfchild.

I did think of putting the death one in there, but given my layout, I wasn't sure where the heck to put it and still have it look good.... I was going to wave it off by saying that whoever made the engraving of the diagram just didn't dabble in that area. Speaking of death, necromancery, and the like, Ghazkull's character Jorn would definetly put that element to good use.

you could put them in the same spot (like two sides of the same coin).

I guess I could do that...

Hmm, how about a yin-yang symbol? Although it leaves the meaning open to interpretation since the yin-yang symbol has many meanings attributed to it. Maybe I'll stick with the DNA and modify the circle accordingly so I can add a skull (universal symbol for death), or even better, do it inside a yin-yang symbol....

Edit: Allright, updated the alchemy diagram and put it up on the first post for later reference, also updated the post with the turn that you discovered the alchemy diagram in.

DemiGods RTD: Turn 21: Hephaestus's Irony
« Reply #308 on: September 06, 2010, 10:51:35 pm »

Turn 21: Hephaestus's Irony

i have the speed of a frickin' HORSE. i should be able to run faster than colossal things carved out of GRANITE.
TRESHA!
Cover Drex. WITH FIRE!!!

[4]Drex instantly bolts for the other end of the hallway at maximum speed while Torc realizes 'OH SHIT!!' and runs towards the entrance and tries to deliver some cover fire [1], all of which go wildly, some of which go right for Drex who [5]luckily dodges them all with eqquine grace. As for the stone giants, [Torc Luck:4], the fireballs disrupt their vision enough for Drex to go right through and now have their attention on Torc ((Which I believe was your intent, right?)).

[2]When Drex gets to the stone door, he tries to get it upen, damn!, STUCK!

Aww, he's so cute!

Mind-wipe the fuck

Question: Are these stone guardians automatons or living beings?

EDIT: Actually nvm, I'll just try to befriend the sauroprimate
((Wise move))[4]You look at the cute sauroprimate and try to befriend him. Crouching down, you speak softly and hold out your hand 'Hey there, you look like a nice little monkey...lizard... thingy."

Search for shinies, or failing that, non-shinies that look interesting.
[1]You try looking around for shinies and decide the sun is a 'shinie' and look right at it for a second before realizing that looking at the sun hurts your eyes. Shaking yourself out of a brain fart moment, [4]you continue your aerial survey and come accross a structure that seems strangely out of place considering the architecture and you recognize them as being obelisks in an Egyptain style, even with Egyptian heiroglyphs included. You wonder what the heck they are doing there in the middle of a temple complex that is more of a Indian or SE Asia architecture.

6 Giant stone guardians? Let me see.. I`ve got an axe, a chainmail and a shield... Hmm.

Should be easy enough for me to kill them!

But since i have no meta knowledge i`ll just Search for treasure or something interesting.
[4]Thinking that Alethe could handle those sauroprimates on her own, you look around and come to the same domelike structure that Tharin is at. Making use of a small runic ritual, you are able to find the entrance, [luck:4]which fortunately is only lightly covered by vegetation and easily cleared.

[2] You discover nothing new.

Quote from: Sauroprimate
respond
[hunger check=2] Since the troop isn't actively hunting at this time, the sauroprimate making contact with Alethe gestures to his 9 other adult packmates that Alethe isn't a threat and certainly isn't acting like a prey-creature, so they begin to appear from their concealed locations. They are all eyeing Alethe to see what exactly she will do next.

Quote from: stone giants
EXIT HALLWAY
Golem1:[5]

Golem2:[1]

Golem3:[4]

Golem4:[2]

Golem5:[3]

Golem6:[3]

Of the 6 golems, only two manage to get out of the hallway, the rest are more or less stuck because one of them got thwacked by an errant arm flail and fell over [3][2][1-4], causing a fist sized chip to break off the torso. It of course, made it harder for those behind it to get past it.

[Golem 1 attack:5][Torc dodge:2+1 ((ouch!))][BP check:4][Damage:4+1-1((epic success minus dodge roll effect, no damage reduction since steel chain mail doesn't cover the legs, sorry.))]

Since the first golem got ahead of the others, it engages first and sends a piledriver down on Torc, who manages to dodge enough to not get his torso smashed and instead the hit slams into his left leg, breaking it and Torc screaming in pain. Despite the injury, he is [luck:4]just able to get back up and at least hop around while fighting the pain.

Golem1: undamaged

Golem2: Torso:lightly chipped

Golem3: undamaged

Golem4: undamaged

Golem5: undamaged

Golem 6: undamaged

Regarding the golem falling over, its entirely possible for it to die right there from the fall just by rolling a 6 on the damage and a lower dodge roll. For normal sized critters, falling wouldn't really cause critical damage unless you had horrible luck or were falling from a great height, you have to remember that these golems weigh TONS.

((well shit...))

Use alchemy to inject True Life and/or Chaos in one or all of the golems. If that doesn't work dodge around in an attempt to get them to hit each other.

((by the way, dwarfguy... HELP!!!!))

((Also if Torc is alive after this, he is so make a full set of armor.))

I'm not even sure how the heck injecting true life (I mean, they are already golems) and/or chaos would affect them, but for chaos, I could certainly make something up, however, expect the unexpected with chaos.

well i thought that they were automatons so True Life would make them sentient or some thing like that....

Its not going to be an 'I, Robot' type scenario or any other typical 'robot reaches enlightenment' scenario, thats for sure.

I was thinking life alchemy would be alot like biology and genetics, sorta, but um, making automatons like golems would go right in that territory of 'giving life' to automatons. Either that or binding some spirit or elemental to the golem.
