You don't belong here citizen!
« on: August 10, 2010, 04:14:11 am »

I want my fortress to have a place where only my starting seven can go. It has to be openly connected to the other part of the fortress. Just some basic stuff like a dining hall, bedrooms, food stockpile and everything high quality of course. Is it possible to have a place where all dwarves except a certain group don't go?

Yes but you have to do it the other way around and mark everywhere you do want them to go with a burrow and then assign every dwarf other than your starting seven to it.

You could do the reverse and assign the original 7 to the higher quality burrow.  Just be sure it is regularly stocked with the essentials.

The downside is the fact that a citizen could wander in, but if the burrow was far enough that may not happen.

Something to keep in mind is that some common dwarfs may prefer an item that the original 7 has stocked as opposed to what the citizens have stocked.

You wouldn't want a meeting hall in the original 7 area either.

Just lock the 7 away somewhere with no access except a hole on the ceiling, from where you can dump supplies in.
