nah it was a general game making challenge. people make assets (graphics, music, sound) for the first month, then anybody uses those assets and only those assets to make games. A user named Oryx made the lofi roguelike/rpg/dungeon crawler graphics that quite a bit of people ended up using (it was pretty much the only group of graphics that had a full tileset to work with).
So yea, those graphics are now open for anyone, anywhere to use forever. I'm glad people are taking advantage of this. Can't wait for the tiled version of Expedition to come out!

I'd say they look really good compared to the rest, he also had quite a few tiles in there.

so, is this game playable in any meaningful way? I keep running out of money after my first settlement.

Also, does anyone have the slightest idea on how to dock at the starting port town, it seems to always spawn me south of the actual port.

not sure if this is the intended solution, but there's a hole in the fence to the north-east of your spawning point. It's where a corner should be.

What does 'expedition-based combat' actually mean?

Last I checked, people on expeditions don't fight in a special way.

Okay, so, today this girl I know-Lauren, just took a sudden dis-interest in talking to me. Is she just on her period or something?

I wanted to see some expedition based combat!

Also, the explorer might be able to make a map, so the fog of war might only be where you have not been before, or some other solution.

Can we set up settlements or camps yet?

Like this?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fr6tktW99_s

About the map, it was a hard choice... the thing is that it's *too precise*, so if you can see where you have been before, you can make a breadcrumb path, which is unwanted, expeditions are meant to get lost :).

some other solution == hand made maps :P

And yes, you can do settlements now
