Wiki: http://www.dvorakgame.co.uk/index.php/Main_Page
Basic Rules: http://www.dvorakgame.co.uk/index.php/Rules
DvorakMUSH information: http://www.dvorakgame.co.uk/index.php/DvorakMUSH

Card game where players create cards, theme, special rules, and such.  Can be played online through DvorakMush.

Might be fun to play this occasionally, especially if we create our own deck (Bay12, complete with LCS raiding Boatmurdered?).

Bleh, need a name...
"Bay12 Battlers" just doesn't sound right..got any ideas?
"Dwarven Justice"? It can still have LCS and stuff..hmm..

I made a deck once, but I quit. I should probably delete the page before anyone here sees how horrible a mess it is.

ALSO! I have free MUSH hosting 24/7 that I haven't used. I can put up a Bay12 MUSH complete with the Dvorak Staff (the incarnation of the Dvorak Engine in my MUSH.)

We don't really need an epic name. Just calling it the Bay12 deck would be fine with me.

Here we are!

In a bit it'll have more instructions like how to add cards...
EDIT CONFLICTS AHOY!
:P
Okay, we now have a Dwarf, a Hammerer, a Cat, and an action called Justice System. Nobody else wants to help yet?

I say we make most abilities require certain amount of dwarfs.
And then we make lots of Dwarf cards.

Heck, even the Nobles should require certain amount of dwarfs.

Also, cats should have the, Ability: Play two cat cards from anywhere.

Then those Two cats could play two cats, and before you know it CATSPLOSION, also, from anywhere, so, Zombie Cats.

Cats should be:
Play two cat cards or kill a small critter

Small critters should be the maggots and spiders and they bite dorfs from the other team. =p

I already made a catsplosion card that is able to make 2 cats for every pair of cats...and then it gets put back in the deck, which is then shuffled.

SO you can play a couple catsplosions in a row, and have 8 cats.

Soulwynd: You can help edit too ya know!

Edit:
I didn't really look at the dvorak page, just read through the topic, so it probably wouldn't fit into the dvorak thing, but I still think it's a neat idea.

:o  You know how lots of games like this have a health stat? Instead, just put like 4 or 5 cards into play at the beginning of the game.  When you lose all cards in play you lose.

Then, instead of keeping track of your health you keep track of your frame rate.  Your frame rate is used to cast spells, and have cards in play use abilities.  Things like the cat card could lower your and the opponents frame rate, so that when you spam them it makes both of you unable to do much more than one thing every turn.  That way, you end up with tons of cat's on your side, little on the other, and neither of you can play much else.

You could have spells like 'Item Clutter' which lowers the opponent's framerate for awhile, and using special dwarven abilities like the pebble toss of a "Legendary Dwarven Thrower" would make it so that you can't do anything else on your turn if you use it, and the opposite that 10 untrained dwarves could attack in the same turn.

Of course, you would always be able to use at least one ability on your turn, and putting cards into play would require some other mechanic.

For how you put cards into play you might just make it so that you can put one card into play every turn, and certain cards like the cat card can bring other cards into play.  Like the dungeon master card could bring in one extra creature card into play as a pet for a high cost in frames, or spells like "Reproduction by Spore" could bring in other cards in your hand.  Or in the case of dwarves, you could play them on top of each other, like a legendary card could be played on top of a less skilled card, like a pawn changing into a different piece in chess.

Of course this would be different from how most other card games like this operate, so it's just an idea.  But, is it any good?

It might be more applicable for a "Dwarf Fortress" game than a "Bay 12" game.

Oh, I didn't notice the wiki link and the edit. =p

And yeah... more like a DF game if it wont feature most of B12 games.

Perhaps after we can make a B12 Community Members deck, with each one of us as a thing and our common memes as actions.

Reminds me of 1kBWC which I used to play all the time.

Actually, its pretty much exactly the same thing, of which I approve!

But you guys are going about it all wrong! The person with the framerate idea had it right, but even they got it wrong. So I'm going to make a Dwarf Fortress deck (not bay12, just dwarf fortress).

Rules:
Every player starts with 3 things and 3 dwarves (each dwarf representing a little more than 2 dwarfs).
A player loses if either they run out of dwarves, or if they ever have more than 20 things. (This is dwarf fortress! There needs to be plenty of ways to lose!)

Additional Rules:
At the end of your turn, all face down things are turned face up.
If you ever have more unhappiness than dwarves, you must discard a dwarf. You can then remove two of your unhappiness cards that are NOT dwarves unless the dwarf discarded was a noble (in which case you remove no additional cards).
No player may have more than one copy of any Noble.
If a card REQUIRES another card, that player must own the required card before it can be played on them. Nothing happens if the required card is later removed.
You may play things and events on ANY player that meets the requirement.
If a thing is discarded, destroyed, sacrificed, or otherwise removed from play, it is shuffled back into the deck.
Some cards are attached to other cards. Play them under that card.

Things are divided into four types - stuff, effects, creatures, and dwarves.

Cards:

Dwarves:
Peasant
Craftsdwarf
Miner
Smith
Soldier
Hunter - (Turn face down to turn a WILDLIFE card into a FOOD BARREL)
Farmer - Turn face down to look through your deck and put a FOOD BARREL or BEER BARREL into play.
Sheriff - May cancel a crime played on you by turning this card and the criminal dwarf face down. The crime is discarded.
Hammerdwarf(Noble - requires 4 dwarfs) - Your dwarves that would commit a crime are, instead, destroyed. The crime is discarded.
Medic - One of your dwarfs that would be eliminated is instead turned face down. Turn this dwarf face down.
Mayor - Increase your maximum number of things by 2.
Chief Medical Dwarf(Noble) - Your dwarves that would be eliminated are, instead, turned face down, unless they are already face down.
Captain of the Guard (Noble - requires 2 soldiers)  - Counts as a Soldier.
Champion (Noble) - Counts as a Soldier. If this dwarf would be destroyed or sacrificed, they are instead turned face down, unless they are already face down.
Dungeon Master (Noble - requires 5 dwarfs and an Underground Feature) - +1 unhappiness. Counts as a Smith.
Baron (Noble - requires 4 dwarfs) - +1 unhappiness.
Baroness (Noble - requires 4 dwarfs) - +1 unhappiness.
Count (Noble - requires 6 dwarfs) - +1 unhappiness.
Countess (Noble - requires 6 dwarfs) - +1 unhappiness.
Duke (Noble - requires 8 dwarfs) - +1 unhappiness.
Duchess (Noble - requires 8 dwarfs) - +1 unhappiness.
Monarch (Noble - requires 10 dwarfs) - +1 unhappiness.
Tax Collector (Noble - requires 4 dwarfs) - +3 unhappiness.

Creature
Cat - +1 happiness.
Wardog - Counts as a soldier
Wildlife
Hostile Wildlife (Counts as an Attacker) - Destroys one of your dwarves (chosen by player to your left) each beginning of your turn. You may sacrifice 1 of your soldiers at any time to destroy this card.
Skeletal Wildlife (Counts as an Attacker)- Destroys one of your dwarves (chosen by player to your left) each beginning of your turn. You may sacrifice 2 of your soldiers at any time to destroy this card.
Megabeast (Counts as an Attacker) - Destroys one of your dwarves (chosen by player to your left) at beginning of your turn. You may sacrifice 3 of your soldiers at any time to destroy this card.

Stuff:
Siege (Counts as an Attacker) - Destroys one of your dwarves (chosen by player to your left) at beginning of your turn. You may sacrifice 4 of your soldiers at any time to destroy this card.
River (Water Source) - Counts as two things.
Lake (Water Source)
Ocean (Water Source) - Counts as two things.
Magma (Magma Source) - Counts as two things.
Waterfall (Water Source) - Discard if at any time target player does not have a river. Counts as 2 things.
Food Barrel - You may remove this from the game at any time.
Beer Barrel - You may remove this from the game at any time.
Rubble - Requires Miner
Drawbridge(Counts as Dwarven Atom Smasher) - Turn face down to destroy any one of your things, and anything attached to that thing.
Trap - You may turn this card face down. This counts as sacrificing a soldier.
Artifact (counts as an Item) -1 unhappiness. When played, look through the deck and attach a "treasured item" card to this.
Waterworks - Requires Water Source. If destroyed, look through the deck and immediately play Flood! on yourself.
Magmaworks - Requires Magma Source. If destroyed, look through the deck and immediately play Release the Magma! on yourself.

Effects
Builder Destroyer - Attach to an Attacker. Destroy this card if the attacker is destroyed. Destroy a Stuff at the beginning of each of your turns, if possible.
Friendship - Attach to a dwarf. If that dwarf is destroyed, +1 unhappiness.
Love (Counts as an Effect)- Attach to a dwarf. If that dwarf is destroyed, +2 unhappiness. (Only one Love may be attached to any dwarf)
Adoption - Attach to a cat or dog. If that cat or dog is destroyed, +1 unhappiness.
Treasured item - Attach to an Item. If that item is destroyed, +1 unhappiness.

Events -
An Ambush! Curse them! - Target player must sacrifice a soldier, or you may destroy two of target's dwarves of your choice.
Cave In! - Requires Miner. Target player must sacrifice 2 dwarves.
Immigrants! - Search through the deck for 3 dwarf cards and add them to your hand.
Dam - Requires 4 dwarves. Destroy a river belonging to target. Search through the deck and put a lake into play under that players control instead.
Carp! - Requires water source. Destroy one of target player's dwarves.
A Vile Force of Darkness has Arrived! - Play a siege card from the deck in front of every player.
Flood! - Eliminate 2 of target players dwarves.
Release the Magma! - Eliminate 3 of target players dwarves.
Shoddy Construction - Destroy a stuff.
Thief! Protect the Hoard from the Skulking Filth! - Take a Stuff under control of target player and play it in front of yourself.
Snatcher! Protect the Children! - Take a dwarf under control of target player, and play it in front of yourself.
