The Soldiers of the NationsEach Race has their own kind of unit, each strong in certain warfare actions and with different abilities. The difference in this is that you as the player not only need to worry about guiding them on the battlefield but also raising them in Skill on the Fortfield. A Young Solider isn't going to be as strong as a Legendary Warrior, nor is a Copper Equipped Warrior going to be able to fight a Steel Clad Warlord. Also to note is that when you are raising them in the Fortfield, a wounded Solider can't fight any battles so you will need to keep them safe if you wish to fight wars...
There are Five Levels of Warriors, which are represented by their Training level gained in Fortmode. A Raw Recruit who Dabbles to someone who still a Novice slots into the first one while other skill levels fit the next few. Some requirements are made on different Races on what they can and can't train as and can also advance differently or gain something another Race can not have or even use something on the TBS Map that is not available when playing Fort mode. Below is a simple description of how Skill Levels affect the Rank of the Warrior.

Equipping an ArmyEquipment matters when it comes to battle, certain metal trump that of others and meaning the difference from Victory or Defeat. When it comes to Battles outside the Fortmode we are introduced to the difference between the Copper Armour and that Steel Sword are seen again, knowing what you equipped your Army in will help win the battle, but do you equip all your Recruits in Steel to give them a better chance or just leave them with the Iron gear you had made for them before. The Player has to decide and report on their Amour and Weaponary settings before a battle, and be sure that all their men are ready. Even Marksmen need to be stocked with enough Arrows/Bolts to last them the battle before they are forced to pull back or go Melee...
Building SquadsA lone unit is weak and defenseless open on nearly every side and easy taking for a grouping of foes. But a Squad of tightly packed and a group working together to face their fate is stronger then any lone soldier. Forming Squads will ensure victory and will allow the forces to fight back with more strength and defend against the harder blows. Together they stand, divided they fall...
Forming a Squad requires 4 or more units who will be locked together on the battlefield, moving together, fighting together and defending together. When placing your units onto the Battlefield you can arrange different shapes to allow for maximum use, formations or just acting as Backup units can work as one to face their foes, surrounding in one simple movement and even activating special abilities that would not be avalible otherwise...

-The line Formation allows for a Solid wall of units to face a dangerous foe, they are able to fold around small groupings quickly and efficiently to surround them on all sides. They move as one unit but require a few turns to 'Wheel' around to take a different direction if they are to keep their Formation...
Special Abilities:
Shield Wall - Requires Units equipped with Shields - The Shield Wall allows for maximum defense, boosting each units Defense by that of the one next to them and so on. Striking at the center of a Shield wall will get you nowhere.

- The Rank Formation is that of Two lines working together to enforce their strength, Ideal for a Shield and Spear wall, where the front set are those able to defend well while Spears are able to strike over their allies and into their targets from the safety. Other uses are to replenish the front line incase a unit falls without breaking rank or allowing a gap to form..
Special Abilities:
Shield Wall - Requires Units equipped with Shields - The Shield Wall allows for maximum defense, boosting each units Defense by that of the one next to them and so on. Striking at the center of a Shield wall will get you nowhere.
Hold the Ranks - Unit to have fallen from the Front Line - Hold the Ranks is a Passive ability where whenever a unit falls from the front line, another unit behind them takes their position quickly without expending a Movement point...

- The Wedge Formation is a Penetrating attack, allowing the Squad to strike through the formations of their enemy and taking little to no damage in the process. Each unit gains a boost of attack equal to that of the unit behind them and so on with a multiplier on their movement speed. This is a devastating move when used by fast moving units like the Human Mounted Units...
Special Abilities: CHARGE!!!!! - Requires Mounted Units - Speed is multiplied by 1.5 as the unit covers the distance quickly allowing them to break through Shield walls and break apart formations. Though limited if used at a Too Far distance or a Too Short distance, finding the Sweet Distance to start a Charge requires some thinking...

-The Bulls Horn is a Formation that is Reflective of its name, the worse place to be is in between the Horns of a Bull for from there the Bull has complete control on where you go and how much pain you will get. The Bulls Horn is an Ambush Formation, by hiding the two Horns of the Bull the Main force is show to be open to attack, but when the enemy enters the 'horns' the horns strike and come in behind the Foe and pins them from two sides. The shape of the formation changes over time, sometimes its used by making units that appear weak as the bait while leaving Range to strike from a distance in the place of the Horns. No two Formations are exactly the same...
Special Abilities: Set the Ambush - There are no true requirements to the Formation, any Race can set one, yet its the Elves that are able to make the Formation more deadly due to their ability to do so without the Opponent knowing.

Dwarven ArmyThe Dwarves that we all know and love. Able to Smith the strongest Weapons but are limited by their physical limitations, but these Warriors are Bloodlusting Monsters that take the to Battlefield and keep fighting to the last man. While Dwarves are the Slowest Race out of every kind, they do make up for it with their defensive, attack and Special Martial technique known as a Trance allows them to be as dangerous alone as they are together...
Grouping Dwarves though is a safer strategy then leaving them by themselves, as the Trance is limited in what it can do and how long a unit can survive alone. The Dwarves also have the ability to bring more Warmachines onto the Field then any other Race, giving them a large ability to move them around the battlefield and fire further and stronger then even the Humans. The Earth shook when a Dwarf had the idea to Take their Siege weapons to the Field...

Elven ArmyElven Warriors are graceful creatures, crossing the field of battle faster then a Man on Horseback, added by Nature itself they can be a fierce foe if face on an open plain over the walls of a Fort. Able to go into hiding in grass a few feet tall they can strike from anywhere and then disappear just as fast as they came...
With their silver tongue and ability to commune with Animals and Nature itself. The Elves can bolster their numbers ten fold by summoning the world against their foes. While every Elf has the knowledge to talk to animals, only the Stronger and higher Ranked members of their nation can actually command and call them. The Highest Ranked Members are also able to commune with the trees and plants, bringing them into the battle aswell with a bit of Magic, it has been said that when an Elf called for the Woods to take revenge on a Dwarven Fort, the Trees themselves took up root and marched on their stone walls...

Human ArmyThe Humans are a resilient lot, while they are normal in every way and form of the word they have succeed in becoming one of the Major Races in the world. Able to adapt and learn from all other Races to become something which can achieve at anything they set their minds and bodies to. They are an adaptable race, using nearly every kind of weapon and can use Warmachines like the Dwarves, yet not as skilled, and even train animals to fight for them. They have even gone as far as being able to learn how to Smelt Steel using a Method that the Dwarves have long since discarded for their more up to date method. None the less this makes Humans a Dangerous force on the Battlefield...
Humans also Lack special Abilities that they can call their own, unlike the other races, Humans are only able to fight using their skills in their weapon class or mounted ontop of Horses. These horses are the only thing that is special about the Humans for only another Race rides an animal to battle yet the Horses are specially trained animals, who when under attack will not flee, will fight back themselves with bites and kicks that can shatter ribs and crush armour. Humans are specially Trained to fight ontop of these animals with great skill making them Deadly Knights...

Goblin ArmyGOBBLLLLLINNNNNNNSSSSSS!!!!!
A fearful cry heard during battle which screams and curdles the blood, Goblins are a force who use Sheer numbers to Overwhelm and crush their foes beneath their many feet. It is a common sight to feel like you have killed the SAME Goblin three times over and yet he still is coming back for more. Goblin Soldiers are able to withdraw from battle and reappear again back at their deployment zone. Overwhelming numbers are their aim and they gain so much from it...
Goblins also can come mounted on monstrous creatures known as Beak Dogs, Raptor like creatures which snap and claw at anything infront of them but when one of these are downed that is it, the Goblins are also able to drag Trolls onto the Battlefields and let them loose if they had been able to capture the creature thus making them able to Smash though Gates and Walls with tremendous force. A Goblin Seige is something to fear...

Merc ArmyGot the coin, need the sword. Mercenary have been on Hire for many of decades. Bands of warriors who will fight for a certain price and a costly one at that. Mercs are Multi Raced meaning you can hire them from other Races that are not your own, though they are a lot weaker then their Home Nation. They all come at Third Teir ranks no matter what but their Weaponry and Armour Qualities are a true hit and miss gamble. You never know what they wield until they hit the field fully equipped. Though their costing can influence what they are using. That's if they are telling the truth....
