You should all be ashamed of yourselves.  The obvious solution is to chain the baby up at the entrance as a kobold detector.

I really like the old Lords of Magic music. It was one of the reasons I loved that game so much. Each of the 8 faiths had their own sweet theme song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xu7ubxpEKvQ&feature=related <---- awesome

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFTVU2pO_ak&feature=related <---- kicks in at 1:45

Note that the songs change up a ton and tend to really kick in after a minute or a minute and a half or so. Also, these youtube versions are slightly lower quality than the original but not too bad I guess.

Listening to them again makes me want to install LoM again but the cd is scratched beyond repair from years of use.

BUMP for great Justice!

Comix Zone has a brilliant soundtrack for a MegaDrive/Genesis game as well as amazing remakes and OST of songs from game by composer's band Roadkill.

Then my favourite intro song ever Red Alert's Hell March and it had a sweet soundtrack for rest of game as well.

Streets of Rage I love but that might be more nostalgic from just playing the brilliant game.

and FF8 has a great one, personal fave is The Landing but occasionaly when I go for a number 2 "Force Your Way" pops into my head, perhaps its the wording or because it's a boss battle.

I'm rather fond of "Maybe I'm a Lion" from FF8

There are a few games I've played which have absolutely amazing sound tracks that stand out completely. Unfortunately I have a bad memory, so I'll have to say the closest one I remember.

Shatter! Some of the tracks are amazing. Well, most of the tracks are amazing in my opinion.

Lots of excellent game sountrack around, here's a few that do not seem to have been mentionned in the thread yet , but surely were in other threads about game music on this board :
Blackmoon
from old forgotten RTS "Blackmoon Chronicles"

Full Bore
from 2D fighting game "Killer Instinct"

No idea of the name of that one
best music (lot of them were excellent) of the bunch in my opinion from the old turn based tactical game WH40k:Chaos Gate

The Edge of Soul
from old 3D Souledge/Soulblade

Barber - Adagio for strings
From the 1st Homeworld RTS

ToME4 (Tales of Maj'Eyal)  has an excellent soundtrack (though none uploaded it to youtube from my search), you can extract the file "tome-0.9.44.team" from \tomedirectory\game\modules\ as if it was a zip/rar archive and grab the OGG from the \data\music\ to listen to them out of the game.
"Hold the line" is a very good one amongst them , i like it a lot.

Planescape Torment has some of my favorite music.

This one still sends chills to my spine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4QINNwR6Nw

It's not the 'best' game soundtrack I have ever listened to but I have never listened to a game soundtrack which blends perfectly with game itself and enhances the mood more than this. I still feel strange listening to them now.

Bastion.
Star Control 2.
Some of Mass Effect's Soundtrack. Even the theme of the horrible third game was good.
Battlestar Galactica Online? It was the same music from the show, but still, it's good.

I really like Castlevania music. The Lament of Innocence soundtrack is one of the few I've actually bought.

I also really like at least some of the music from the Japan-only original Sega Saturn/Playstation version of Baroque.
Example: Hold Baroque Inside

I also quite like the music from The Binding of Isaac.

Whoa. Crazy neco time.

Anyway I don't believe I've seen the Botanicula soundtrack listed here yet. I've been listening to it pretty much constantly this week and it never fails to make me happy.
