I notice that the community seems to be divided over steampunk/cyberpunk, and it would most likely be best if both games were hosted. If you would feel unable/unwilling to host both, I would volunteer for hosting one of them (if you tell me the mechanics for the game beforehand).

Would all the flagships be big brute force things like that, or sould it be small and exotic things as well?

Initially, brute force. You have the option of making a smaller vessel than your opponent, and there are definite advantages to that.
When you group alot of small vessels together, that's when tactical maneuvering really could make or break things
and I can't think of an easy way to do it at this time. I won't rule it out until I really develop the combat rules. I really want to focus on absolutely massive vehicles battling and not fleet-type combat.

That's a good question. To me, steampunk implies a world with industrial revolution technology with a slight sci-fi twist (impossible structures). Fighters aren't impossible, , but a steam-powered fighter is very unlikely or too cumbersome to be useful.

But not impossible, and in most steampunk settings I've seen they did have rockets. And we've even had rocket powered planes in history.

Steamboy Anime did a good fighter style thing using steam...

Nusicaa has simple Fighter glider that could be used...
