Black friday - The game dedicated to scaring the (NPC) living
« on: August 05, 2010, 08:17:21 am »

OOC: Alright, this isint to technical as such. The goal of the game is that you (the general community of players) are given a target, of whom you must scare to insanity, death, perpetual paranoia or made to follow you. The rules are simple. Keep it serious and dark. When you aren't scarring people (havint thought that part out fully) or some specific other stuff (i'll give you a green light to when its ok), dark humour and the occasional gag is fine. There is only one "creature" under your complete control. VERY IMPORTANT: Whilst i'm still working on the "not scarring part", causing the person to go insane etc WITH STYLE, WILL be rewarded. Out right killing in boring ways will result in small "scare points" and likely me giving you a shite result. Until you can make your own styles up, use the Exorcist, The Ring etc for inspiration and ideas.

All is dark, the surrounding hills and grass and cloaked in darkness. That is, beside the light flowing from the small window. Back in the under-depths, they had laughed at you when they you had asked if you could become a Vicom, one of the many spirits dedicated to making one thing happen. Making the Humans fear the dark. And ow how they laughed at you. They finaly gave you a target. Some people on the surface who were totaly innocent to every thing. Basically no fun and a waste of time. You decided to take it anyway and well, here you are. Slinking up to the window, you peak into the window and see...

You look into what appears to be a small lounge room, with a small fire blazing away in the back.
In the room is a small wooden table, surrounded by a small, ratty couch, a poorly made wooden chair and a small stool. They are all in the center of the room.
A lamp on the table in the opposite side of the room from the fire, illuminates the south side of the room, the closest to you. It is sitting on the ground, surrounded by a bunch of piled towels. That could be a fire hazard...
On the west side of the room is a ratty book case, filled with old and no doubt useless books.

There is currently no one inside the room, not even you target. Speaking of your target...
Your target is a middle aged woman who lives alone in a small house on the outside of a large industry complex.
They are apparently very scared of odd shaped twigs (the imp who told you this is known for trying to make spirits look stupid.)
*** - No other information available due to no pre-preparation or inside sources

And then their yo- Wait... Whats your name and what are you again?....

NEEDED:
A name: (Something spirity or scary, go on)
Spirit type: (Use your imagination but good rewards/high fives for originality)
One special advantage/ability/scare "power": (Dont be stupid now, nothing hugely powerfull, at least for the start)
One special disadvantage/ability/scare "problem": (Make it as hard as you want but nothing stupidly easy or I SWEAR I will keep bringing it up. Also, keep it serious)

Due to me wanting to start, first app is the creature. GET POSTING.

A name: (Something spirity or scary, go on)
Spirit type: You are a drowned spirit, taking on an aspect of the water that killed you , you are relatively fluid and no longer care for living things
One special advantage/ability/scare "power": Water related, lik emaking people think the water is running too fast and filling the rom, or constant drip drip drip noises, fake drowning probably coming later
One special disadvantage/ability/scare "problem": Extreme heat. the hotter the worse you're powers fuction and eventualy even you're mental faculties

You really can both sig it.
But... That would break the laws of sigging! We can't have everyone running around with the same quotes. IT MAKES THEM UNFUNNY FASTER!

I like wolfchild's start. I'll throw out Somfusio, or Som, as a monster name.

OOC: We have a "The Ring" fan do we?  ;D Alright, here we go.

"My name.... is Somfusio." you think to yourself. As amazing as it seems to you, its not important. Because, you need to find your target. But first, you need to get inside... And it might be a good idea to choose a "common" form.

A common form of a spider.

Small, stealthy, can climb on walls, lots of people have a phobia, etc.

Examine what is inside the window, and your surroundings. Hopefully we're at the edge of some dark foliage, even better if it's raining.

Look through any windows we can reach. We need to find our target and any available water sources.

Fixed.
Examine what is inside the window, and your surroundings. Hopefully we're at the edge of some dark foliage, even better if it's raining.

You risk another look inside. A log inside the fire has rolled further down and is currently leaning of the fire door (its a closed fire). You have a look around you...

You are currently hovering in the air outside the window as a watery some what human looking blob. You might need to work on that.

There is small cloud cover above you. Whilst it fills the entire sky, by the look of the colour of the cloud's, it is'int going to rain for awhile.

Your immediate surroundings are the window, a long, wooden wall, with another window further down, a young and fertile peach tree, some small bushes and a row of potatoes. Not much to look at. A small road is also visible far off in the distance. This person likes their privacy. The cost how ever, is that their is little sunshine or in your case, moon light.

Look through any windows we can reach. We need to find our target and any available water sources.

You take another quick peak through the window. Nothings new. You decide to move down the wall to the other window. Whilst the curtain is closed, you sense that the room is empty and cold. As you are about to continue observing your surroundings, a small sparkle on the wall catches your eye. On closer inspection, its.....  An outside water tap. Normally used by humans for gardening. You quickly check the pipe. It has a full connection to the houses pipe system. Excellent...

See if it is possible to open any windows from the outside before we make our way in. We should cool down this place as much as possible for our own well being, and perhaps to set the 'mood' for the inhabitant.

You have a quick go at the window leading to the heated room to find that its nailed shut. Hmmph. You move back to the other window and manage to jiggle it a bit. Grinning, you morph quickly into water and suck your self through the gap and you form again. A sudden wave of nausea hits you. You realise that when you morphed through the door, you lost a bit of yourself. Great. Sighing, you observe your surroundings to find..... That you are in a tiny, dirty little room. Two doors, one on the left, one on the right are at the other end of the room. Between you and there is a small pot plant, housing a dead plant. Just as your about to go outside again for a better look, you hear the sounds of someone moving down stairs. Its coming from the left door, towards the heated room. If they go in there, you could have some problems. That is, if its your target.

Someone must be paranoid...

If the target goes into the heated room and lounges there for a while, then no problem, that gives us time to manipulate the environment.
For now, move the plant into the middle of the room, little oddities like that could serve us later. Then peek through the right door before going through it, make sure to open it slowly and only a small amount to keep it from creaking too much, then use our morphing abilities to slip through.

"Someones a tad paranoid... For a good reason to." you think to yourself. You quickly slide over to the dead plant and have a look at it. Its a small, dead, leafy bush. Grunting, you pull the plant over to the middle of the room. As your pulling it, a floor board creeks VERY loudly. Swearing, you hear the sound of the person on the stairs stop. Shit. You quickly pull the plant to the middle before hiding in the corner. Just as you do, a person bursts through the door, into the room...

They are male, mid aged. They have slightly grey hair.
They are wearing some light clothing with a small beanie on top.
They are holding a torch light and a baseball bat. Thats slightly odd for a human...
They have a paranoid, almost insane look on their face. Could make your job easier or 10 times harder...
You can just make out them muttering something about intruders.
They are yet to notice the moved pot plant.

The man, swearing, flicks his light on and slowly pans the light from one side to the other. Lucky for you, he starts on the other side and slowly moves it along. Just as your about to follow the darkness behind him, he spins around and points it that way. This complicates things...

Become a puddle under the man's feet, their frantic reactions are sure to make them slip.
Then slide through the right door and hide in the first secluded area we see.

((I like how we are using group pronouns to refer to the characters))
