Gather branches and logs start a fire that can last for several hours. Then do what these people say to do.

While your at it grab a load of rocks to place around the fire to provide a bank to protect it.

We need a way to make primitive firearm-tubes.

I wonder if that white rock that crumbled was saltpeter ...

HUNT FOR VINES DAMMIT.
Though you have no idea what the last word is, that voice gives a good idea for a recurring need for a vine. You search around for a little bit and find a huge vine growing on the opposite side of the neerest tree, how convinient.

We have one very important thing to do. KEEP THE FIRE ALIVE.

Gather branches and logs start a fire that can last for several hours.
You gather lots of twigs and set them on the fire that you put in the mouth of your cave.

While your at it grab a load of rocks to place around the fire to provide a bank to protect it.
You grab rocks of various colours and set them around your fire.

Look for a suitable straight and solid branch about a cubit long that we can use for the handle of our stone axe.

Remove the branch from the tree with the sharp stone if needed :)
Use the vine to secure the stone to the branch.

Edit: Unless the twig is a branch of a reasonable size, in which cause use that.

Cut the big vine in half. Leave one half at your cave, carry one with you.

Use the vine to secure the stone to the branch.

Then use your axe to make several short spears, and practice throwing them.

You havn't a clue what a cubit is (and neither do I) but you look around for a straight branch, you find one but it's just at the edge of your reach on a tree, you hack it off and make a big enough slit in an end to fit the thicker end, then you tie it in with the vine. *Invention SIMPLE AX!!!*

You dont know how to make even a sharpened stick out of your own memory...

I think we should concentrate on pickaxes, so we can build bigger, better tools from metal/metal ore.

But then again, we do need a axe first. (I was making this post when Evergod posted) Anyway:
Cut down a random, healthy looking tree.

Glad our finger has stopped bleeding :)

A cubit is a pointless unit of measurement, approximately the length of your forearm which I figured was about right for an axe handle.

hmm spears next guys? fire hardened or stone tips?

damn speedy posts... O_o

Fine.

Cut down a random, healthy looking redwood tree that's half the size of the tallest ones.
