An atl-atl would be easier to make though.

If we can make a gun, what would stop us from making a crossbow for silent long ranged hunting?

Oh wow, I can't beleive the state in which I left this in...

We aren't making a crossbow due to vine not making a good string and we dont have the mechanics to do so

We can make a gun, but not a crossbow? Well we are a caveman that speaks English, so I can't really complain.
Discover cotton, or some other thing we can make string with. Also make better/more bedding with the dried wolf pelts, and make the wall better by hollowing out the supports and filling them with pebbles.

Flax would be better for the bowstring iirc. Or we could use the sinew from the animal carcasses we've been collecting.

I didn't say we could make a good one... a hollowed out wooden pipe, with [secret ingredients] at one end with a projectile, and some sort of stopper... might leave the barrel withought blowing it up, constitutes as a gun, but it's horrible.

Oh, and we're in pre-ancient-egypt now, remember?

After your intimate moments, you always get some form of inspiration. You take a look at some of the long grasses that grew in the floodplains, most of them are what you now call wheat, but there are a few that are different, they are similar, but have buds instead of visible seeds, flowers, and are green... You split them open and find some long stringy fibers, they are golden in color and very soft, but strong.

You use these fibers and braid them together, forming one of the strongest strings you have ever seen. You take one of the more sturdy  straight branches, that is just longer than the string, and tie the two together. You pull on the string and the stick 'bows', when you release the string it snaps back into place... The whole contraption, when stuck on the ground, is about your entire hight... You have no idea right now how you could possibly use this in any way, but you made it, and it looks cool.

You instantly remember that your face is still red...

It's Late Evening; it's Mid-Spring.

What shall you do next, other than remove the red on your face?

Flax would be better for the bowstring
I did not know that, but I was going to use it anyway

Once we have de-reddened our face we should gather more of this wonder fiber to make more bows with. We should also begin carving a proper stick for the bow.

We should also find a nice, sturdy stick so we can make a sledgehammer. By the way, how big is the rock formation we hollowed our home into?

Quite big from the ourside, but I wont allow anymore in-ward expansion

You rush to the river and start rubbing your face with the water. Eventually you get the red off your face, you already have alot of not-wheat, and you gathered all you could anyways. So you just start work on carving a better stick for this wonderous bow you've been hearing about lately, you start with one similar to before, a little bigger, and a little thicker, and start whittleing away at it to smooth it out and get a semi-consistant surface. You also manage to cut notches into the ends so the string would accually stay put... you also re-do some stuff so that now you use the new stick instead of the old one.

You watch the sun set with your mate before heading in for the last time today. You start carving out a long pole, the length of one tip of the finger to the other across your body, not really having much plans for it, you leave the job half-done and get some sleep.

Will our caveman age a year-per-ingame-year, or a day-per-ingame-day? Will we have to take over as a descendant at some point?

Never planned on this ever occuring. But, this will end when bob dies, no matter what, if Bob does get a descendant, I will try to write something out for them, and what happens after them, so-on-and-so-forth.

I'll just say for now, Bob is a middle-aged cave-man, and I'll say he get's too old to do what he's doing at around day 50 or so... that seems reasonable enough, though I'll most likely end it sooner...

Why are we discussing when this will end?

This games dies quite frequently, so it's reasonable that one person would ask.

Are we entering another dream sequence, or are those being taken out?

I guess I did end it there... and yes... I have been idleing on this long enough to call it dead.....

No, no more dream senanigans, they dont add enough to the plot to require storytm from me.

Wake up and add some flint to a stick, see how well it works with the bow.
