Abandon the boat. We should go after survival at this point.

You contenue your efforts to escape the rapids, your arms quickly tire at this point, but you get close enough to the edge so that if you were to abandon ship, you could try and wade to shore. The 'Schhzhhzhhzhhzhh' sounds get incredibly louder, you look down-river, it just stops... the river flows, then suddenly stops... there aren't any trees growing close enough to try and grab a limb to stop your passage along this river of doom... You try to jam one of your oars into the bedrocks, it does it's job for an instant but then snaps under the pressure placed unto it..... You run out of ideas, but you dont want to abandon your canoe.....

Curl up into the fetal position and hope this is a leap of faith moment. If we survive the waterfall we can just start making our way back home.

I can't see anything else to do since you won't allow us to abandon ship. Just hope for a leap of faith.

See if you can grab something that floats before you jump. Don't want to drown, now do we?

You struggle to force yourself to jump out of your canoe, you spent so much time carving this thing, so much effort. But upon realizing he might die, he jumps out, and manages to make it to land... he watches his beloved creation topple over the edge... and into oblivion.....

You take the long way home, that is, the only way you know... The river still raging, you throw a rock into it... and some more sad stuff, making it back home, but on the wrong side of the river..... how did you not think of this? You must solve this problem sometime soon, as you are getting quite wet from all the rain.

Hollow out a shelter into a large nearby tree and sleep until morning.
