Try finding some way to draw, Communicating by drawing is the EASIEST. Hopefully we can have some sort of shared written language with these outsiders. Take the meat from the person, state Bob's word for meat as SLOWLY and WELL PRONOUNCED as possible. Don't eat the meat though. We first should draw something loosely symbolizing friendship.
OR
We could try repeating what they say and using our Caveman Intuition to guess their words.
You accept the provided meat, but withhold from eating it just yet, and with your newfound assumed freedom, you head outside and grab a Flint slab, and a Limestone stencil. You draw upon the slab as best that you cant, they obviously saw 'The Lost Light' but couldn't under stand the representation of things, so you start simple, you draw a wolf, a knife, a fire, and a picture of the parsley, you dont think they season their meat, and confirm this when you eat the paice of meat they gave you... it's also barely cooked! Just enough to brown the outside, but not the middle! You show the kind woman your pictures and point to each one, and say your words for them, she seems confused, and so do the on-hearers, they didn't know you spoke a different language... or that you can draw... "Bash'ni! Vrok'dah kleft'na." The men murmer to themselves... while the woman you spoke too realizes what you are trying to do... and tries to replecate the complicated anunciations of proper english, "woulph, na-if-e, f-ai-re, brok'to nad'aa?" she skips the last one... parsley is just too unknown...
They day goes on like this... you trying to teach her, while she tries to learn. By the end of the day she can speak every word you can, but can't form correct sentences... "Hunt weapon beast. Cut meat. Cook fire meat. Eat cook meat." Well, it's a start... you also learn the names of everyone, but cant recall who is who... but your student is Naish'na.
