All in a days work.
« on: August 04, 2010, 03:30:29 am »

Athel Regalen, the broker of fortress StickyPlants was toiling away in fields admiring and enjoying a hard days work. As he looked up from his duties, he noticed a caravan off in the distance. "Looks like I've got some trading to do" he thought to himself. "But first I'll finish planting these seeds." He told a child to spread the word that a caravan was on its way and to start hauling the goods to depot.
As the caravan walked by, Athel stared coldly at them. "Great" he thought, "more damn elves. I'm gonna need a drink before I deal with those snooty bastards." So off he went to get himself a bit of dwarven beer. When he finished his beer, he helped everyone finish hauling the bone crafts and assorted copper armors to the depot. By now the caravan was unpacking. They smiled at him and Athel grunted at them casually. "I can't do this on an empty stomach" he muttered under his breath. So off he went to get a fine meal.
The caraven had just finished unloading their goods, as a very full Athel scowled at them once more. "Sorry fella's" he shouted at them, "I'm on break." He took an extra 15 minutes past his usual allotted break time to shoot the breeze with Mafol, a recently crippled dwarf. "so that's when I said, that's no monkey! That's ma cock!" He bellowed a loud rumbly laugh and Mafol chuckled a long with him, just as an elf turned the corner.
The skinny figure stared at Athel, "We'd like to trade with you if that's possible." he asked. "Well sure ya would, and I'd love to trade with you but first I need my nap.", Athel replied. And off he went to take a nap. When he awoke he sauntered out towards the depot, the anxious elves walked up to him. "How was your nap? Are you ready to trade?", they asked. "Well ya see it was a fine nap, and I feel refreshed, but I can't trade with ya, because I have to harvest some strawberries.", he quickly added, "wouldn't want the youngins to starve now would ya?" And off he went to harvest the fields.
With the fields harvested, Athel could find no other excuses not to trade with the elves. When he arrived he shouted, "Well now lets see what ya brought this time!" The elves awoke with a fright and looked confused but quickly started showing off their wares. "Splendid, splendid! We'll take some of those tigers and maybe that buzzard too.", Athel stated. "Now lets see, what can we give ya in return? How bout these bucklers, and some of these leather leggings. Oh sure sure finest marmot leather money can buy, no no only worn once to a wedding." He continued pointing out the various goods up for trade. "Oh and here take these..." he snickered and  passed two large wooden barrels to the elf.
"Savage! How dare you?!" the elf shouted, "I will not trade with barbarians!" Athel just laughed. "You sir have offended my dwarven sensibilities. Gentledwarves, Seize their goods!" And with that the depot was surrounded. The elves looked like they might fight back, but Athel scowled at them. "Now fellas stay calm, don't make me call the bear dwarf.."
"Go ahead.", the elf grumbled, "we can't stop you." and with that the elves left with their tails between their legs.
Looking at the haul and thinking about how he bested the elves, Athel chuckled to himself. "Yep, nothing like a hard days work!"

The dwarves of B12 Gamers are all huge xenophobic, sociopathic bastards... and yet, we find this strangely okay.

It means I liked it but after reflecting over it for a few moments, it fucked up my mind completely. I guess having my mind fucked up is
something I yet have to get used to as a DF player, and as a member on the Bay12 forums lol.
