Year 52, Granite 1st, Spring…
They arrived in the valley between these great mountainsides, finding the cart with anvil and picks still there, blessed luck. Though I could not see it, I ‘felt” Armok smile from this position taking pleasure with the site of the area these dwarves will build their homes at. Already their carpenter was taking down the carts and the others lugging all their goods to the small open area on the stone, two of the four miners grabbed the picks and began to carve ramps into the hills, making them more solid in their design and more defendable. The Smelter set to work by grabbing on of the stonepiles left behind from the work and began to build his workshop, no doubt he would be in there a long time. Only to come out when there were some gems to cut for the promised trade caravan coming near the end of autumn…
A Quick build Forge was built by one of the minersbefore he began to make the simple picks and axe he and the others would need from the Bronze his fellow dwarf was smelting. The Farmer on the other hand began to gather plants from the aboveground shrubs and fields to begin the process at starting simple farms here on the surface, it would take time to reach the underground that they sort…
Year 52, Hematite 1st, Summer…
Plans were made and designs were changed, I watched as parts of the fortplans were added and removed constantly with each passing day, there was an agreement and the miners began their work, I could hear the slight chuckle from Armok in my lap. I wish he would go bother some other Shaman Warrior, but no he has taken interest in this fort and its inhabitants…
It looked to be a Dome that covered the exterior of the Western Mountain Face that was to be built, meaning that the East part before the brook was to be carved down to ground level, what was once a great mountain side is now a Cliff face above a Brook, none the less I don’t see anyone coming down that anytime soon. The Miners carved away quickly and before we knew it the mountain was gone. Dwarven Miners are deadlier then ants and termites when it comes to soil and stone…
At the start of the last third of summer, the Miners had nearly finished their work on reshaping the Westernmountain, I saw from a distance a group of Migrants approaching the Outpost. But it was only until one of the Miners spotted them that it was known that they would have more hands shortly…
4 sets or hands approached the centre of the small encampment, the small tents that had been set in the area grew as those that had just arrived added their own, each showed signs of disappointment that there was no defined sleeping quarters for them yet, but they were quickly reminded that things were going to be different here…
It looked like things were moving on smoothly in the Outpost, a Hunter was preparing for his work, two worked on producing bricks for the wall that was to be built, the miners nearing completion on carving down the mountain sides and soon the planned Spiral Ramps to the Caverns would be started, and with the extra pick, things might move a little quicker…
Year 52, Limestone 1st, Autumn…
It has come to it, the Miners finished carving the Western mountainface to suit the plans, already it looked stronger and yet no construction of the planned dome had even started. The Miners began looking towards the rockfront and picked their places well and began digging their Ramps…
The size of the Militia swell to two Crossbowmen, the current commander steps down for the new blood who not only is skilled with the Crossbow but the blade as well, It seems that the Militia will be carrying Swords for their defence aswell now…
Near the end of the Season the first Spiral broke into the Caverns. The second is being planned now, soon they shall begin to live down there as they build the dome over their entrance. The Farmer seems like he is ready to plant though he lacks the seeds due to foresight saying that they would be a waste to bring, none the less some parts for a Corkscrew Pump are going to be built, and when the Dwarven Caravan arrives, seeds will be bought from them…
Year 52, Moonstone 1st, Winter…
The Caravan came and I saw Gems moved to the Depot, seeds and bags, cloth and leather, meats and fish. These were bought with a nice profit for the merchant, perhaps then he would arrive earlier for these dwarves next time…
The second Spiral had been started, and the last floor ready to be shaped to the right path, I believe that next year the Dwarves will be moving into the Caverns and claiming them as their own. The Masons work to build the wall but are slowed the construction to prepare the materials. While the Two Dwarf Militia work at their melee skills, trying to get them to a good standard before moving back to their archery work…
The year comes to the end, the Miners approach the final parts of the second spiral, soon it will be finished and the Dwarves are ready to shift they resources down into the Cavern and the walls were to be built and finished. The Booze was falling to a all time low and the Farmer was reminded that he was spos to be covering the duties of supplying the Fort with drink, none the less he is working on it now…

With the turning of Years End and the Beginning of New Year coming and going I take notice that the time for my annual report is due, perhaps the Queen will be happy with the work so far and not challenge these Dwarves too soon with here ridiculous desires. Armok chuckled as I began writing out my final report and I heard him murmur something, though it was not directed to me, more like to the dwarves he had been watching, I will add it for I feel that it is important…
“With each year that passes, I will expect more from you and your kind, while most think I am crazed and lust for blood and destruction, though right, I also see to watch for the amusement and events that unfold. Entertain me well and I think that will quench my thirst and not raise my hunger….”
I fear that Armok might be taking a Little TOO much notice of this small fort. Perhaps I should try and advise them to build their defensive wall and begin their militia soon…
