You guy s are already through 2 years?!? I've done 1 season. And 2 people are dead. Both of them miners. Luckily I brought 3. Also in an attempt to create crematorium I set up a magma tunnel. Sadly the floodgate was not magam safe. I opened it destroyed the wooden casket but then I couldn't shut the flood gate because it wasn't there. The only thing separating it and the rest of my fort is a door.


Edit: Now I feel like a hypocrite
Also I have to start again It glitches up. Nobody was doing anything. There where no reasons for why they weren't doind it and they werne't canceling the jobs they all just claimed that they didn't have one.
Like I said though I had only done 1 season.

Did you reclaim? The save won't open directly to the fortress, it was abandoned immediately after embark.

And no its not in Recycle, cause I was emptying it due to have tons of shit in it and didn't notice till after...

New Orders!

Late afternoon, some time after you have arrived:

The advisor has mostly been a non-entity since sending off his first message to Her Majesty, informing her that you had arrived. Now he appears beside you, a small note made of thin strands of rope-reed fiber compressed into a writable surface in his hand. He waits for you to acknowledge him, then gives his message.

"The Queen is glad to hear of our arrival, sir, and passes on her congratulations,"

Thinking that is all the message contains, you nod to the advisor and prepare to move on. He clears his throat, forestalling your departure, and checks the note again before speaking.

"Her Majesty also wishes for an outdoor garden to be prepared, that she should have a place to sit away from the hustle and industry of the main fort."

It is clear to see disapproval on his face, and you can't really blame him. An outdoor garden? Some Elf must have put that idea in her head! Nethertheless, she must be obeyed. Heaving a heavy sigh, you nod again, and the advisor passes you the note (to keep you reminded, no doubt) and walks away.


So, we have our first challenge!

The scope of this 'garden' is up to you. A walled in 3x3 grassy area with a farm plot plonked on it? Sure! Beds of different outdoor plants set out all fancy like, with paths and fountains at intersections? Great! It just needs to be outdoors, and include at least one farm plot.

For my own fort, I'm thinking....strawberries. If I can find the seeds.

Haul buckets up to the top of the castle and make a little pond-mud-garden? >.> Or does mud only work for underground plants?

I'm pretty sure you can't muddy constructed floors.

...Of course, I could also just cast obsidian in my lake of magma and then build a farm on top of that...
