From the log of Sir Broccoli:
Our carpenter struck a mood today, he grabbed some logs and made a chestnut grate. Useless, but at least we got a legendary carpenter out of the deal.
I already mentioned that I had the awesomest idea ever. Well, I just executed it. It all started with a little above-ground wall (made of glass, of course)
Followed by building a floor over the river...
Then we dug a little tunnel to the magma...
And ladies and gentledwarves, may I introduce to you: The valley of magma!
It's going to take a while for the entire valley to fill up, but we're in no hurry.
In the meanwhile, some elven traders arrived and immedeately started ordering me around, something about not being allowed to cut more thatn 113 trees or something. They really pissed me off so when they left over the bridge I pulled the lever and catapulted them into the valley.
Ahahahaha! That always cracks me up! Unfortunataly one of our miners was also standing on the bridge at that time, so I had to open the door to let him out of the valley...
...and all of the sudden all the dwarves in the fortress were swarming around all of the fallen goods...
...all of the useless, wooden goods...
...while a wall of magma was approaching.
Fortunately I got everyone out of there in time, we dont have any use of all of that crap that the elves brought us so I just left it there tu burn.
Anyway, the valley is looking awesome! Here is a picture of it:
And here is a drawing of me, flipping off mother nature while the world is burning to a crisp:
In other news, Ascubacus just became a mother! Congratulations!
Not a lot else is happening, the farmers are farming, the army is training and the valley is starting to look more and more like Armok's bathtub. We did get a visit from a thief who decided to attack a baby:
And the worst parent of the year award goes to...
Anyway, Ascubacus took care of him, I noticed she's pretty good with a sword now:
Not long after that the dwarven caravan arrived, and not long after that...
I'm afraid our military isn't good enough to take on an ambush and the trade caravan probably has some experienced guards with them so I ordered everybody inside and let them handle it.
And it appears their guards aren't as strong as I anticipated, they got slaughtered and the goblins are now crossing our bridge.
So of course I pulled the lever and catapulted them into the lake of fire.
Ehehehe, this is almost as much fun as catapulting elves. Anyway, the goblins were tired and wounded from fighting with the caravan. So I lowered the bridge again and had the military kill them. We lost one dwarf to the goblin menace though, a blowgunner by the name of Kogan. He shall be given a proper grave, with a coffin that I will craft myself.
We thought we were safe until more goblins showed up, I raised the bridge but one of them managed to sneak through. He was quickly taken care of.
So now we're in a bit of a situation, there's goblins outside and our military is tired and wounded. I think i'll just give them a little time to rest, get them a nice sout of armor and then take on the rest of those bastards.
