First Year

This is a map of the top-level. You can see your outside garden beginning to take shape. We simply unloaded on the ground while we let the miners start their digging. The twisted entrance is to hopefully provide better protection should there ever be a need for it.


As you can see here, our dwarves are so accustomed to working and drinking that they get cold when they sleep. They have requested to have all homes be nestled up to warm rock for better warmth.

I'm also pleased to report that there seems to be an abundance of iron containing ores as well as flux stone and magma. This fort shall one day produce steel in thy name, Majesty.


The miners have started carving out a workplace for our various industries. A very free-moving design was chosen for less confusion(FPS, lol)

So your garden would look less like a retarded horse, we made it a square design, also giving you plenty of room for your queenly enjoyment. We are growing strawberries and sun berries in your garden. You have a nice seating area for eating in the corner, or by the statues overlooking the crops.

Our craftsdwarf is working hard to get crafts for your caravan you are sending later this year.


A dining room can be seen here. It's far from complete, but if I get some chairs and tables in there it will do just fine.


I've decided to put stockpiles directly above the workshops, and our miners are working hard to carve out a space large enough to accommodate our every need. The same goes for the food directly above the dining room.

As you can see here, we've moved everything underground now that our miners are finished with the workshops and the stockpiles.


Here are the stockpiles for both the workshops and the dining room. I've decided to place the kitchens and the stills right next to the food stockpiles for quick storage.


Here you see the nearly completed dining room, and the completed workshops, with plenty of rooms available for future ventures.


This one shows off the meeting area next to the dining room. The hallway will be filled with statues.


Here you can see the common homes finished.


And here is where the higher levels of commoners will stay. I've decided to place more important members on the bottom layers, and eventually the peasantry will live very close to the surface, or if there isn't enough room, in huts on top of the magma vent.

I write this in haste my Queen, for the Goblins are attacking. Indeed they have destroyed many things, including the reports from Autumn and Winter...

I just took in a full view of my fort after year one, and one of the first things I did was set up an "outdoor garden" a 2x2 plot in the corner  of the metal area. Take a look at the spring map. It may be there, and If it isn't, I'll post one.

Yay! My first update is up!

Did anyone else have a that lake over/in the volcano somehow collapse and show you where some adamantine is?

We all did. Bug in the coding for volcanoes. Makes anything that would be on the lip, plain obsidian floor. This leads to murkey pools' walls getting deleted, which leads to water which the pools are generated with flowing into the volcano. This, for some reason, makes a cave-in massage which shows the entire tube, which in this case, goes to the magma sea. Guess what is in the magma sea? Bingo.
