Alright alright, haven't tried to play this for a long time so even more questions:

How do I install or remove parts from my mech?
How do I change its colours?
I'm currently in a bad mood and seriously injury, but the local hospital only offers to install cyberware, I want healing! How do I get it?
What version exactly are you using? It seems much prettier then the one I download on the official site. Mainly the isometricness is prettier and graphics overall look nicer. Me wants it nao.

I'm using the version of GearHead 2 from the official site, with only a mechapack added.

Right click and go to Field HQ to adjust the mech.

Open GearHead, not GearHead 2d.

Is gearhead 2 still being worked on? The wiki seems like a barren wasteland.

Also, were can I get that sweet version you're using? Plus what are your key settings? I'm trying to find a decent way to set the NE, SE, NW and SW directions on a numpad-less laptop.
edit the cfg file, and uncomment laptop iso keys option

Hit shift-h to pull up the field hq whatist, then pick your machine. It should be fairly obvious after that point... hopefully. You do need whatever part you're planning on installing to be in the intended machine's inventory, though.

I'm currently in a bad mood and seriously injury, but the local hospital only offers to install cyberware, I want healing! How do I get it?

Depending on the injury, cyberware may be the only way to fix it (eye loss, spine damage, etc.). If it's just health damage, there should be a doctor somewhere on the spinner that'll treat it; alternately, you can pick up medicine and find some first aid material, fix it yourself.

What version exactly are you using? It seems much prettier then the one I download on the official site. Mainly the isometricness is prettier and graphics overall look nicer. Me wants it nao.

Iirc, the base install offa' sorceforge comes with a 3d and 2.5d version, one of which you want. I only play the ascii version though, so dunno which it is.

Wait, I'm uncertain of this, but you need a decent Mecha Engineering stat to install stuff without it blowing up in your face, right? I tried without a ME stat. Stuff broke.

Pretty much. Your ME and Knowledge scores influence your chance of being able to remove and install parts without something breaking. Theoretically, it's possible to install just about anything with a KN of 1 and no ME, nor Jack of All Trades, but the amount of save scumming it'd take to pull that off would be patently ridiculous.

GH2 introduces a hard limit on how much can fit into any one thing as well, which can be eased if you have the Innovation talent. You need a ME score of at least 10 to unlock Innovation for purchase. It's one of the better talents available, though.

Frumple, you are not -campers-, but you can still help with -parties-.
I have no idea what you're talking about :P

I'm guessing it's from SC2, though, which I've never really played much of. Need to, one of these days. The Frumple I stole the name from came from somewhere else.

Welcome back. I'm going to try to fine-tune the dialogue in later updates, when not just copying straight from the game (which is happening a lot this time, because the characters just won't stop talking. EVER.).

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Yeah, this update is kind of mediocre.  Made some progress, though.  Which path shall we take this time: help, action, power, or piracy?

Also, I'm going to be away for 5 days starting Monday, so the next update will be slow.

Piracy, or a perfectly legal courier business. Yeah...

Also, use Science on Data Visor. Make it fire lasers or something.

Oh man, I just noticed. Lava Shark one-shotted an entire mecha with that laser sword of his.
