Buy a bronze mail shirt for 48 points
Buy bronze greaves for 36 points
Buy bronze high boots for 20 points
Upgrade Archery skill from Skilled (4) to Adept (7) = 15+18+21 = 54
Upgrade Crossbow skill from Talented (6) to Expert(8) = 35+40 = 75
Upgrade Dodging skill from Adequate (2) to Competent (3) = 15

He might be better off staying unarmed, but buying some iron armor. Otherwise his striking points would be wasted.
I was planning on buying full armor equipment with some skill upgrades if I had won. Alas...

True. Wouldn't bronze armor be about the same, though? He'd be best off completely covered, but his next match is against a heavily-armed werewolf, so a weapon that can actually cut that flesh would be useful.

Equipment can be sold back- skills can't.
He'll need to disarm his werewolf opponent's heavy armor and get in some solid punches. It's a good thing his dodging skill is so high.
That werewolf only has points in bite, right? If that's the case, he should get armor that protects his vital areas. A cap and a mail shirt would probably do it- he can't wear gauntlets, those would slow down his fists.

No, the biter werewolf is the one who got bisected by Dancing Dagger the Kobold. This werewolf has a greatsword. Yeah, this one could get ugly.

Actually, you know what? I'll change my upgrades. no new armor, 1 knife level, and all the rest into dodging. If I don't get the first hit, I'm toast.

Gauntlets won't actually slow down your fists or any other attacks- at least not any more than the weight added by any random piece of armor would.

Attempting to punch a werewolf to death is not recommended, in either case.

I dunno you can get some pretty decent damage going with fists if your strength is decent... better than mauls or whips imo.
