Mr Hacker versus Eclipse suddenmoon

The two contestants had been waiting anxiously for this fight for days. Mr. Hacker was a fearsome human who did well by the axe, while Eclipse suddenmoon was skilled with the sword and shield. Both opponents charged at each other with fire in their eyes: First, Mr. Hacker hacked at the Elf's body only to be deflected by the Elf's sturdy breast Plate. Eclipse then tried to poke the human with his sword, but was denied. Mr. Hacker's next swing was similarly parried by Eclipse's sword. Then Mr. Hacker, with a mighty scream, charged at the surprised Elf managing a mortal hit through Eclipse's breast and tearing apart the lung. Eclipse is knocked over while struggling to breath. Mr. Hacker, still in a rage, raised up his bloody axe and with a mighty show of strength cut the Elf in two. Eclipse suddenmoon would never again witness that wonderous sight which is his namesake.

Mr Hacker is victorious, and advances to the next round!

The only way the underdog would win in this case would be if he got choked on (like a rottweiler choking on a chihuaha)

On testing, there is a way the unarmed dwarf could have won.

The minotaur stabs the dwarf with a pike, the pike is stuck in and then lost.  The dwarf then punches the minotaur in a vital area to distract him and then chokes him to death. Unlikely, but possible.

Match 9

Jack versus Susmat

Jack is a rather shrewd Kobold who his skillful with his adamantine dagger. He learned from watching the previous contests that his best chance at winning would be to land a debilitating blow early on his opponent. This would be especially important against this particular foe - Susmat, a Snakeman from the underworld who with one bite could paralyze the little kobold. Susmat is a horrible creature to behold: it has a snake like body but with the torso and arms of a man, and pitch black eyes. It wears a steel breast plate and a steel helm but is only armed with its deadly teeth.
The battle begins and Jack uses his speed and agility to his advantage by striking first: it is a deadly blow to the back which severs Susmat's spinal cord! The Snakeman falls to the ground like so much rope; but still has some life left in it. Jack does not relent for a minute, stabbing Susmat through the breast plate and ripping into the creatures chest. He works the dagger around in the snakeman's inside, gouging its guts. Susmat manages to lash out feebly but his needle-like teeth only catch the air. Quickly, Jack removes his knife from the bloodied chest and stabs the demon-spawn in the head. Darkness overtakes Susmat's eyes and its accursed life came to a swift end.

Jack is victorious, and advances to the next round!
