I wonder if there's a way to word a sudden loss of level adjustment. (Not a gain of levels to compensate, mind you, just making my pre-epic level cap 20 instead of 17.)

Are you still recruiting? I used to play with people a year ago and would like to start playing again.

e: So I don't look stupid, I realize the subject says you're still recruiting but sometimes those don't get updated.

So long as you don't attempt an ultra-cheesy character using races that don't exist in the campaign, then welcome.

Fantastic, I'll be a super powerful dude who has huge guns and huge rocket launchers out of his back get something written up. Do I give you the character sheet or do I just show up during the next session?

Post your concept here first. Much of the fluff in this campaign is somewhat different from normal DND (elves are omnisexual complete omnivores with short tempers, and dragons are descendants of kobolds, for example), and quite a lot of the base races simply don't exist.

I was planning on doing a regular ol' dwarf cleric. Do you want a complete backstory or just what the character will be like?

PM me the bio, as I'll have to rework it into the actual world. I must inform you that, due to a house rule, clerics recieve wizard BAB and do not have the normal weapon or armor proficiencies.

If you care to know, our current party composition consists of...

Usually there
Eafoth the Level 12 Cleric (+3 LA) - Me
Gurk the Level 16 Bearbarian

Sometimes there
Naren the Level (15?) Bard
Darrek the Level (15?) Wizard

There's also Aryana the DMPC Sorcerer. She nukes things. I nuke things and heal things, a la Divine Metamagic and a prestige class emphasizing the 'good' part of Lawful Good Cleric. Gurk bears the brunt of attacks, and deals clawsome damage to his foes. Naren is the faceman, and great against things that aren't immune to his music. Darrek does oodles of damage by throwing swords and chairs and whatnot with his mind.

Can I ask Velius for the ability to gain knowledge as a resident of this plane? (IE: Lose my Level Adjustment, but not gain levels to make up for it?)

I have a weird feeling as if you had forgotten someone. Must be my imagination.

Anyway, I'm playing the forgotten level 15 sorcerer.

Goodness, I forgot we had two now. I remembered your character, but then didn't write it down after marking down Aryana.

That seems reasonable enough. Game us Sundy.

I thought about it some more, and came to the conclusion that some sort of freedom of movement effect would be fitting. Innate FoM would probably be too powerful, but how about somethings like 10 freely dividable rounds of it per day? Or maybe a ring of Freedom of Movement?

That's tricky. I'm not so concerned with the power level, but fluffing it into the Velius's domain is tricky. Gurk would simply be adding aquatic elements into his existing ablility, while Eafoth's LA is due to the presence of Pelor's power. As the Sun is tangentially part of the Seas, and Pelor is a subordinate god to Velius, that is also easily within his power.

Well, the ocean domain contains freedom of movement, and I thought about fluffing it as being able to flow without being stopped by anything, just like water.

Alright, that makes sense. If you ask him right, he might give that to you.
