From the Journal of Naren Obosa, Male Female Male Human Elven Bard Sublime Chord
I suppose I'd best take up this old journal again, though much time has passed and many events have taken place since I last wrote within.
We pursued Ficus quite some way on the backs of Giant Eagles, which we had purchased from a rather nice man running a stable for exotic animals. The Eagles alone would have been enough, but he gave me another offer, one I could never refuse. Dragon eggs, fairly gained. A chance that would have come along for me but once in my lifetime.
Ever since I was a child, dragons inspired my imagination, the many epic tales centered around them driving me even to become a bard, and adventure in the hopes of one day meeting a truly ancient one, in the hopes that it would share its story with me, and I could forge my own magnum opus from it. As time went on, my desires, admittedly, shifted away from that, but they awoke anew with my transformation into an elf. The sorcerous powers awoken within me that day I now believe to be the result of draconic blood running within my veins (whether belonging to the human me, or to the elf, I do not know). Whatever the reason, they returned my mind to my youthful dreams whenever I could pull it from the more immediate concerns of being an entirely different race and gender than what I was used to.
That I could gain an egg for myself... What an opportunity! Not only would I be linking myself with my apparent heritage, I would actually be able to witness a dragon's story first hand, and, in fact, be one of the leading participants in its life! Of course I accepted the man's offer... and, as fate would have it, managed to purchase not one, but two eggs! A gold one, and a silver! Thanking the man profusely, I took them with me on our quest, storing them safely in my pack to protect them from harm.
Following that, we pursued Ficus to a ruined tower after managing to fight off some mechanized birds. There, to my surprised, I found a familiar face- the girl who had hired us to destroy the bridge leading here. Judging by the talk of Ficus and another there, Lord Marandar or something similar, as well as the talk of the girl itself... she was clearly some force of evil, so I took the only course presented to me. I cast a spell... and she died.
The battle did not go well for us. Two of our number fell, and three, including one of the fallen, were sent to another plane. Still, we drove away Ficus and Marandar... as a city of the dead rose around us, ancient structures rising from the ground with the bones of former residents returning to the land of the living and going about their work as they had done in life. I ordered Dharsus to grab the corpse of the girl with the intent of reviving her as soon as we reached a priest, hoping to find out what was going on, then fled with the others on our Eagles.
As we flew away, a veritable army of Chromatic dragons flew toward newly risen city, closely pursued by the Metallics. Knowing in our weakened state, we would be of no help in the brawl, we continued to retreat, when I heard a loud noise from my pack. Peering within, I spotted a large crack on the silver egg, and was struck by a rush of excitement despite the situation we were in. A guard of silvers surrounded us, protecting their kin as it broke fully free of the shell. Finally, within my pack rested a small, beautiful silver dragon. I spoke to her in the draconic tongue, then fed her a small amount of beef jerky (she looked like she would rather have had something better, and I can't blame her, but its not like I can keep much else for food in there).
When we stopped that night, we chose to return to the city, where we immediately revived Zook, and headed to the temple of Paladine in order to revive the girl.
Unfortunately... she wasn't what we had expected. Her quick, simple death in the ruins was only brought about by chance. Now... now, it appeared, outside of the rituals of the broken temple, she had all the strength of a goddess. She WAS a goddess.
Luckily for us, she did not seem the killing type, and let us go with a warning of the conquest of our world... as well as a name, and the knowledge that she was not truly invulnerable.
That night, though worried about the impending danger I may have just unleashed upon the world, I decided to name my new companion. Using what I knew of Draconic lore, I dubbed her Levixvaeri, which roughly translates to "Enchanted Dance." A name I hope she will bear well in the years to come.
