Found the solution, apparently Direct X related, which makes sense, since I had to reinstall windows 7 recently.

Sweet, going to start playing in a sec, hopefully =)

EDIT: Patsy's magic bullet seems to be absent, amongst other things.

Long girders seem to be absent as well

I had the no sound prob too. Installing the latest DirectX fixed it (I too recently reinstalled 7).

Haven't been able to play much, but tried out the weapons at the firing range. I'm enjoying the new (at least, I think they're new) weapons. The termites seem like a good way to dig in quickly rather than resorting to the blowtorch, and the Buffalo of Lies could be a surefire way to force some worms into the drink.

Buffalo of Lies? That sounds awfully familiar...

EDIT-Now I remember! It was a Forts weapon that played like a highly destructive Old Lady.

I don't think there was ever a Buffalo of Lies weapon, it was just something they made jokes about.

Now, long girders gone? Wtf?!

AFAIK the Buffalo of Lies is a new weapon. The in-game descriptions and Steam store page call it such. There was once a weapon (forget which version of Worms it was in) called the Mad Cow or something similar, which did function a lot like the Old Lady.

Yeah, Mad Cow sent out up to five explosive bovines who would scamper across the landscape.  Sometimes they would do just fine, other times they would spin around at the first nubbin of grass and result in a deadly cowfield of terror as you try to manage the damned things so they don't blow up on your head.

The Buffalo of Lies was the evil counterpart to the Concrete Donkey, a sort of semidiety that represented the dark side.  Since ol' Donk was a weapon, I suppose it only makes sense that the His Buffness would enter into the arena in a similarly destructive fashion.

Does anybody have any idea what the 'worship' statue does? it spawns a sparkling(?) statue of a concrete donkey or buffalo of lies... but what does it actually do?

Also,a bout mission 26 or so in the campaign, the Ai is pissing me off with their uber bounce/sliding grenades

I've got Hedgewars, why should I get this instead?

No, actual question.  In what ways is this superior to Hedgewars, because Hedgewars is a pretty damn good Worms clone as well as being free and having a decent online community...

Ditto on the 'worship' question - it seems to do nothing on the Firing Range, except vanish and do nothing if it's destroyed. Have yet to find one on a normal map (still getting through the campaign).

The AI's skill with grenades is compensated for by their horrible bazooka abilities.  :P Really; if they don't have direct line-of-sight, they'll either blast random terrain, or they'll suicide. I 'won' one mission when an enemy performed a teamkill/suicide with a bazooka. It was awesome and fail at the same time. (I also earned the 'prod' achievement by prodding the last enemy, having him stop pixels away from the cliff... and having him promptly pull a bazooka and kill himself. Apparently that still gives you the achievement!)

Did most of the single-player campaigns. Bought me some weapons. Well, almost all available ones (unlockables, as crates, at least). Surprisingly, tutorial mode pays out, so don't miss out on that extra change when you have an opportunity.

So far, buying campaigns is the additional 5 missions on the side. And the concrete donkey, nasty weapon. It drills straight down with banana-bomb power per-impact. Un/Fortunately it's an airstrike weapon, so no go in caverns.

Oh, and one last note; THE COMPUTER IS A CHEATING BASTARD!!! How the hell does it manage to pinpoint their shots? I mean, a precise blast from a grenade to get the mine to explode at just the right time to not only kill my worm(s), but also drown them. Other times, where it seems doubtful for even a human player to fit a shot through, computer has the accuracy of Luke launching a torpedo into the Death Star.

What the hell computer?

One recent dick move the computer also pulled was letting me abuse the infinite blowtorch and delayed time for one of the nearby worms (I had a good spot at the time). I kill that worm, only for his buddy to prod me into the drink thanks to running out of time before getting away from the edge (and also a barrel burning JUST enough space to wedge a guy through as well). I never felt so pissed off at an AI player. The computer prodded my only guy towards death. I never thought I would feel humiliated by my own machine.

According the in-game text files, the Worship statue heals your team and harms the other team a few points each turn, and it can be destroyed. So it's kind of like a totem or something.
