The main difference with this one is that the online will be actually working I bet :P I could never play multiplayer on the others, maybe it was just me though.

I used to loooooooove 2v2 fort mode in WWP. One fort (the townhouse) was clearly superior but even if the other person didn't pick it it was still a fun game.

It got kind of stupid after a while when it became impossible to find any game to join that wasn't a "propa" or "shoppa" or some other arcane variation that took l33t skillz to play.

This game is so much more fun against friends, because the computer is a cheating bastard. And besides, the hilariousness inherent to worm deaths is much more potent when inflicted upon someone. Anyway, steam support would make multiplayer convenient. Interesting.

It's not much fun playing against the computer not so much because the computer cheats, but because when it "screws up" it's so fake, and because it's incapable of using more complex tactics than shooting long-range bazookas and grenades most of the time. It can't even use the dang ninja ropes, which are basically a staple of interesting gameplay.

The only way I found it fun to play against the computer is in the "deathmatch" mode where you play a series of increasingly harder matches. At the very end it's two of your worms against 16 or 18 enemy worms. You can only win by darksiding it up and picking them off very slowly.

It seems Armageddon is more popular to play these days than World Party. Given that WWP had more gameplay modes, anybody know why that is?

I had Armageddon since it was new. I had no reason to pick up WWP since it looked exactly the same. There you have it.

I've never seen WWP in my local stores. So I only have 2 & Armageddon.

I picked up 3D when it was cheap... I like the 2D ones more.

Yeah, this looks very fun actually. And $20 isn't very bad at all. I like how they REALLY returned to their roots.

This will be fun, I owned Worms World Party for a while now.

I thought the 3D games were fun, just not like the 2D ones.

I think it was the weird game modes in WWP that led to weird variations like shoppa and propa so maybe if I start playing again I should look into Armageddon...I remember I stopped playing when it got to the point you couldn't find any games that weren't propa or roperace or whatever

I want this, but I know I'm getting billed according to Worm's popularity, and not the actual content of the game. I don't feel like paying $20 for a cleaned up version of Armageddon. Maybe when the price drops.

Concrete Donkey! top 5 most hilarious sounds/items in any game ever.

I'll probably pick it up. My friends and I played a lot of WWP at LANs. Infact, the theme song to WWP was played when my wife and I cut the cake at our wedding (I walked down the isle to the Portal theme (piano version) and Bobba Yetu was played after the ceremony when we exited. Final Fantasy victory played for the garter toss).

Lan play would lag by 2 or 3 seconds. So you would see someone get out the ninja rope and then hear them go "god damnit" and then 2 seconds later watch them fail and fall into the water.

20 bucks for a game isn't bad. One B12 tournament would be well worth the 20 bucks.

I think it is kind of silly to judge a game on content alone. So they didn’t add that much? So what? You’ve got a classic game updated for new systems, true to the things you loved about the original. How many hours are you going to have fun in the game?

Speaking of just updating a game, this is what they should do for Tribes 2... please?
