Also, why have the all of the colors been orange or blue? Is this a reference to Blue and Orange Morality? Or just a weird coincidence?

No, the guys who give you the starting pokethulhu are always at the top, beside the table. The guy with the glasses is the assistant. (Don't know about the other person though.)
