Baron still doesnt work .12?

I updated on purpose just so i could finaly get a baron..

once again im wayyyy above the requirements and no baron.

seriously this is getting annoying.

Is the save from older version or fresh genning with new version?

Not all "fixes" work as soon as you update, even though the saves are compatible. Certain healthcare issues persisted in old saves, for example, even though what caused them would not be repeated if you regenned or started a new fort. This could be similar.

I finally got a baron in my fortress that was made in 31.10, when I moved it to 31.12.  It wasn't immediate, but it was not very long, either.

I've had a baron for a while and I'm pretty sure the fort has been around since before .10 even.  But i am currently playing on .12.

I don't understand, though that is about right with anything DF related.
I just hope he dies the same death that all dwarfs deserve: liver disease.

I wanted to test out filling my first lava moat right after a seasonal save in my last fort. The dwarf liaison happened to be there and offered me a barony a few days later. When I reloaded the seasonal save however the liaison didn't feel like making the offer. So a bit of randomness involved perhaps?

my baron got eaten by a cave spider, why he was down in the caverns is beyond me his only job is to be fat and attend meetings. no hauling involved.  He managed to get webbed up before my military could arrive and get kilt.  I haven't gotten a new one but the option to become the capital is still there so i just gota wait for the damn caravan to come to so i can offer some tribute (that is how you do it right?) i have everything to where it needs t be except for tribute.

Fresh 0.12 world, no baron despite meeting the requirements.  That being said, my fort is in a location which has no "real" access to the world (i.e. an island where the only trading civilization is the dwarves).  On my next fort I'm going to check whether I do get a baron to see if this plays a role or not; I got a baron on my previous .11 fort but not on this one, the difference being the locations.
