Welp, I've officially declared.  If anyone would like to help me out, I'm currently experiencing difficulties in regards to my communication window.  Because of this, I can't buy or sell anything, and I can't get the needed materials to finish my moon base.

I'd be happy to make someone lord of the moonbase...  You can conduct whatever insane moon-related schemes you'd like to pursue up there, including but not limited to cackling maniacally.

So should we actually use this thread to keep people updated on our empires?

Well, sure: this thread is meant to be used to coordinate the efforts of TAC.

What does everyone think we should do with this thread?

What you said. hah.
Our empires are a bit too scattered for now, that's why this thread is quite dead.
But our efforts should be to find trade routes & ferry routes around the empires of TAC.
Also, gather Technology and help the alliance to tech up.

We should probably start discussing how to support our joint economy.  Have different empires specialize research in one field, and then trade with the other empires in order to receive their specialized tech.  Much faster than trying to level everything for everybody.

The ferry idea should also be discussed further.  How should we coordinate hotspots?  Should there be regulations on the ships as to how many passengers they should support, and what supplies they should stock?  Should we include game tables and viewing lounges for players to pass the time while on board? (personally, I intend to make it as exquisite a ride as possible)

Another idea would be to list the quality of items we have at our disposal, so that trade lanes can be better tailored to suit our needs.  I personally have access to Q246 water, which lends itself to exceptional Air, Hydrogen, and Crop supplies.  However my coal is utter crap, being at only Q67.  This is likely to change somewhat as I expand my reach to other planets, but there's always going to be some differences between what the empires have available to them.

Nice. I'm not sure about the tech thing though - transporting tech would take AGES since every wormhole jump is taking a full hour for some people/npc ships.

About ferries, I'd like to let everyone who set a ferry be free to design it as he would like.
It should be a ship designed to haul cargo and carry passengers though, and should get TL7 (i.e. transporters) as soon as possible.
[I think I will set my TL7 Ferry today, I can show the design if anyone is interested]
Also we need to make sure that the ferries connect not only to the right System, but to the right Planet.
Since wormhole travel is lowering a LOT travel time, I think we should make those transport ships as fast as possible, even if that means dropping it's freight capacity.
They are destined to a neighbor system, maximum 2 jumps away, after all.

Well, once I hit ship TL6... I have a surprise transport to use in establishing trade/ferry routes...

Once you get magmium power armor you can make tons just producing it. You might be able to do the same with regular power armor?

Magmium power armor is worth a fortune, and just clicking the "run" button gives you about 11500 credits (plus the associated tax money, not sure how much that would be). I had a line of buildings doing this and I made millions and dumped it into research, plus now I have mag power armor for all my troops. Win/win. I'm almost tech 12 for ship building now, all I'm missing is refinery.

We could simply have separate freighter design for transporting technology.

I will soon have TL 10 Treatment Plant technology, which is enough to gather Magmex (You still need TL 10 smelters, though). I'll try to get some TL 7 ships up too, then I will gladly export this to other systems in exchange for cash or other general technologies.

I created a test character with Awsemumumum.... fighter jet people; but it was for testing mostly. (failed testing)
Where should I join up when my game is PLAYABLE?
The test character is Matz... no Idea how he looks. Graphics glitches.

It's an exciting time in Oceania right now: we're looking for frontier settlers... :D

Alright, I'm in the middle of designing my first luxury liner...  I may have built it a little small, but this is just a prototype after all.  I'm still getting a feel for the design studio.

Anyways, I was wondering a few things...  Since this is going to be used by other members of the GSA, I was wondering if I should include a couple things.

For instance, should I make it possible to store bikes and SUVS next to the transporter array?  I'd also offer to place a holding bay for smaller, possibly non-warp spaceships, but I'm afraid this design just isn't big enough to accommodate something like that.  Unless it's really quite a minimalistic ship.

Currently I have two viewing decks, one fore and one aft between the engines (the aft one is to be supplied with game tables), a galley which overlooks the foreward viewing deck, and a number of horribly inefficient staterooms.  I probably won't be able to transport more than 100 passengers or so...  Hmm, maybe I should just rebuild this thing a bit bigger...  That seems an awfully small number for the kind of trips this thing will be making.

But I've spent over two hours designing this thing so far, and I really am quite proud of the viewing decks...  The galley turned out particularly well.

So...  Comments?  Should this be purely for passengers, or should I allow them to bring along vehicles?  And should I build this thing big enough to take along a greater number of passengers?
