"I'm going to need a weapon and a shield," you demand.
There is moment of pause, before you notice the bishops scramble inside the building. Several minutes of silence pass before an archbishop, with two priest escorts walk out the central doors into the courtyard, carrying a large chest with a white sheet draped over it. They set it down on the stone, and pull the sheet off. The chest is wooden and ornate, a beautiful relic from a time long ago. The archbishop bows his head low and opens the chest. Inside, resting on a crimson silken pillow is a long, black iron set of prison chains.
"These are the chains of St. Peter. We have kept them as a sacred relic since his crucifiction."
You descend to the box, and remove the chains. They are heavy and unwieldy, but there is something about them that draws you closer. As you grip the end of the chains in your hand, you feel a sudden rush of intense heat as energy is sucked out of your hand into the chain. You cringe and try to release your grip, but the chain seems to be forcing your palm closed. You put on a brave face, as not to alarm the humans around you as the chain steals more and more of your energy. After about ten seconds, it stops. The chain is now glowing slightly.
Hm, you think to yourself in a manner that an author would use to justify a rediculous plot device, these chains must have had potential to be a holy artifact, but lacked the light energy required to activate them to the level of power like the Longinus. Not that I have charged it, I should see what powers it has within it.
You quickly lash the chains forward like a whip. There is loud CRACK as the chains strike the air, rending it apart. Where the chain struck is now a glowing white spiral suspended in mid air. It spins for about several seconds before quickly shrinking into itself and dissapearing.
How odd... You wonder what the spiraling energy does.
No matter, you have your artifact, now. If you really need a weapon, you can always manipulate light to form a spear or something, anyway.
Now you have to decide what to do about Emmett.. The longer you spend out here, the more souls she can reap.
