Hmm.. we could have use for a monster-filled sewer network? and catacombs.. all maze-like.

You'd have to dig them out yourself, and they should not interfere with the existing subway network.

Them emptying into moria is something you can do.

Also, OJ has some kind of sewers planned.

One concern with portals is that they WILL interfere, and that interference ignores altitude. For now, keep all portals at least 25 horizontal blocks from the outside of the city wall.

Eventually, we may be able to organize careful matched pairs of portals by building both sides before anyone goes through.

Oh, and glowstone is no longer for sale.

Can't we just only build the cityside ones, and let the nether portals sort themselves out?

No, because then several cityside portals will all go to the same nether portal, and anyone going the other way will end up at the same cityside portal even if they started out entering a different one.

I'll get around to whitelisting soon enough, and I'll post an update when I do.
I have tried this. It does not work.

Portal blocks vanish if they are in an invalid place IF an adjacent tile changes... unless that's changed.

you can place a single one, but two together dissapear.

single one works for portalling, but looks bad.

Cartograph doesn't seem to be working yet, though. When it does, you get it.

Good news, the sky world is in, but it takes a little hacking. It replaces the standard world. I'm considering setting it up on the Open server, replacing the current, underused map. Is there anyone who wants to keep the current Open map?

One neat thing is that Nether portals will be very useful ways to cross between islands. I foresee something a bit like stargate soon.

I would love a new Open map, skyworld or not. Claiming a floating island sounds neat though.

Is there a way of copying/networking maps yet? I was thinking of starting one in the fortress and scampering all over the project site, but unless we can coordinate the maps as people build it seems pointless to do so.
