So, our options:

  • An underground city of interconnected 8x8x8 block rooms. People can claim rooms and dig them out and larger projects can occupy several. No other infrastructure.
  • A sky-city (ugh).
  • Modern, naturally grown city following a general plan with all the normal infrastructure, with Industrialcraft and plenty of skycrapers. I think some spawning might be needed just because of the sheer amount of building to take place.
  • Completely naturally grown city, renaissance
  • Yet Another Stone City (ugh)
  • Elven forest-city, minimal impact with floral/arboreal-theme houses and towers

I was thinking some kind of city like the one out of Kotor 1, you know that city you start on that is really tall skyscrapers with everyone living on the upper levels and each one connected with big floating walkways if we were doing the skycity still. That would be cool.

You make a house and a road, everyone joins in and it just gets made up as we go along. No plans at all.

Not enough space, unless you're willing to flatten the world to adminium and build from that.

I'll probably do another moria, if I can.

If we're going for the naturally grown city: We're going for a late medieval/renaissance type city, so a citadel with a castle in the middle is a must. The city would go around it, and after a set amount of time a wall would be built. building would then continue outside the walls, and if needed we'd build another ring.

The modern, Industrialcraft city would follow a basic shape and plan, but otherwise would be free.

I'm not too keen on any of this, honestly, but enough people like the idea enough that I won't oppose it.  I wouldn't want to have to mod my minecraft to be able to play on the server, either.

Well, the main philosophy with the previous one was exactly following existing caves, which resulted in what you saw.
