Which is both neat and creepy. Also note, that underwater islands will get squid rain. I use that generator for my SSP world.

I highly recommend you do the Eternal Sands desert map generator. Huge volcanos and pyramids, and dunes of sand as far as the eye can see. Really neat stuff.

This guy's programs leak memory like brains in a sieve. I really want to see this source code, and maybe see if there's a way to generate chunks without keeping THE ENTIRE MAP in memory.

Well, I know it is possible and quite easy to use BiomeTerrain to make some floating islands. I don't know the config for it, though. We could always use Skylands.

Me neither but it's close enough to C# and I know some of that. Anyway, picking up a new language is fairly easy once you know one.

Mods: Do not spawn resources anymore!

Everyone: Keep in mind, the map is still limited in size. It is 64 times the area of the first map. The walls are 16 times longer on each side.

I will be experimenting with other potential map generators. There is a chance we may find something that makes much better islands than this, in which case we may load a new map.

So I really like playing on floating islands, but I connected and had... issues. Is there a whitelist for this server I'm not on? I couldn't talk or, well, do anything except walk around.

Edit: Second attempt was very slightly better. I saw a chat message I sent during the first attempt go through about 5 minutes after I sent it. Could it just be really, really ridiculously laggy?

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.
