Okay, lessee, GC south platform is finished (again), and hooked up to the moria and sandstone lines. I have signposted, connected, redstoned and beautified both platforms to within an inch of their lives. It is effectively finished. However, currently we only have two outbound lines on each side, and as such have space for a total of four more lines. So, with that in mind, we're now taking petitions for any further train lines. Zona and co have already requested a NE line (running up past chunk 0,0), so if you want to be part of that as well, let me know, which leaves possible SE (or E), SW (or W), & NW lines available.
To use the station, just stand on the stone plate to call a cart, then choose your destination before hopping into the cart. As the trigger for departing is you getting in the cart, please do NOT hop out of the cart immediately after hopping in.
Lordnincompoop, would you be willing to glass up most of the arches which the tracks run through? Anything to cut down the number of chickens sneaking in would be much appreciated.
This station is a hell of a lot more complex than any other on the server, which unfortunately also means that it is far more susceptible to jamming. HOWEVER, before you claim it is broken, check the following;
If no cart arrives when standing on the call plate, ensure that there is nothing on the wooden pressure plate on the tracks.
If tracks are clear, check that the dispensers are loaded. These are accessible through the maintenance hole in either platform (not the doorways, but the vertical ladder-hole), to the east (look for the stream of water). Spare carts will be stored in chests near the platforms (probably inside the rooms behind the button walls), and can be fed into the dispenser via a cart feed visible from the departure platform.
If tracks are clear AND dispenser is loaded, then a mob has gotten in and disturbed the booster. This unfortunately requires a manual reset, and for this, unless you know a *LOT* about minecart booster systems, you're better off asking for help. I will be happy to show anyone who is curious though, whenever I am on.
If the cart has arrived, but does not depart when you are sitting in it, check that the no/go light is not active. This light should be reset everytime a loaded cart leaves the station, but accidents do occur. In those cases, the no/go light will not reset (ie, it will remain illuminated). The no/go system overrides the departure booster while it is active; if that light is on, you will not leave the station. To fix this, there is a button on the other switch wall, marked no/go reset or similar. Hit that to reset the system.
Note; the light will flick on as soon as you hop in the cart, but as long as it wasnt on BEFORE you got in, the booster will function.
If the cart is not departing, and it isnt due to the no/go light, there's a mob in the booster. Again, seek help unless you are experienced.
Jamming the arrival platforms can be acheived quite easily unfortunately. When you arrive at the station, dismounting incorrectly can force your recently departed cart to block the pickup. I have reworked all the arrival platforms slightly, which should hopefully reduce the number of jams, but it is still possible. Ideally, I would also add a boat or cart positioned so that you can teleport out of the arriving cart; this would prevent any and all jams due to user error, but I can't see how to install it without it looking ugly as sin.
In the mean time, take care when departing and dismount by right clicking out, then jumping backwards before hopping onto the platform. Sorry for the complexity, I am still trying to simplify this. If you do jam it though, fixing it can be achieved by re-cocking the pickup cart at its door booster.
Finally, to reiterate my post from weeks back; whoever lures a creeper into the station will be forcibly castrated.
