It looks like someone went exploring and just about doubled the map size.  You could cut off the top half of the map and no one would notice.

The Stone City probably would.

And anyways Planehacked will have a new map.

Why?  If you look at a cartograph of it Stone city is in the bottom third.  I was just pointing out that someone did a lot of needless lag-inducing exploration, going about twice as far out as Iron Town.

So my crundles are staying intact unless they're newly spawned... until they are exposed to anything that isn't at room temperature.  This mostly seems to mean blood, specifically, their own.  Then they go poof very quickly.

inactive map sections don't cause lag. They aren't loaded. The only thing they do is increase file size, and most of the time that's not an issue.

How the hell do you merge the map parts, try to open them either by renaming or just keeping the extensions and just get archive damaged errors...

Open the first with 7zip and it should be automatic, just unzip it like normal (from 7zip)

Yeah, just download them both and have them in the same directory, then use 7zip to open the first one, which will automatically find and add the second one. What you see is the whole decompressed file.

Oh. I thought I was forgetting something. I haven't heard anything about the save bug Jay mentioned. I'll look at starting the server running again.

I have a server running on my Linux box that I use just to mess around with various SMP mods, but I could open it up until the PlaneHacked one goes live again if people would actually use it

tranqulity.no-ip.org  for anyone that's interested, it might not be setup amazingly admin wise, i.e. fire might not be disabled. I added lord to ops.txt for now since I couldn't remember who else is normally one.

Not sure how the connection will stand up or the server for that matter, I disabled the overclock a while ago since it was only serving as a media box so I figured I'd save some power, but if it's too slow I can re-OC it to 3GHz
