Dwarven Planehacked fights off HFS?
I still say Regular because the Nether rock can be set on fire indefinitely and that seems like it would lag the server, though that does sound cool.

Well, yes, but SMP doesn't have portals anyways. Hence why you have to choose where to launch the server, hence why we're having this discussion.  :P

Can we just get a server up, I like the idea of playing Minecraft on a Multiplayer over a singleplayer as it kinda annoys me with the singleplayer feeling of it...

Nothing for now since the update broke all them textures.

I had the Painterly Pack, which is actually pretty good.

GRRRRR I do NOT have an outdated client you just friggin UPDATED.
Ok can't connect, tried updating EVERYTHING, downloading the latest version of minecraft, still get outdated client.  :(

Ok, just found out the reason is the server is not updated to the latest version...
For anyone else who gets the error message, outdated client, you need to delete all the stuff in the AppData floder -> .Minecraft -> bin
then that gives you a fresh install. OR NOT GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

OLD CLIENT SO YOU CAN CONNECT: http://www.zshare.net/download/82171413b2154a1d/ - Won't work because auto updating client.

Has anybody gotten the new version of the server to actually work?

Mine gives some weird error whenever I run it ever since the new version:
"[WARNING] Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded?"
