Damn you Nome! Grrrrrr  >:(

Sorry!  In my defense, I totally had the lava flows under control - there were no lava messes.  The fire started because I forgot about the lava-to-tree minimum required spacing.  I'm still not sure what that spacing is, but I now know it is more than one block. ::)

...am I still allowed on the server?  I've given up lava forever, I swear!

More like, "It's up to Llamacraft." Is it no longer functional?  ???

I just realized I have lava pretty close to some trees by my base and it was fine before the reboot, but it might have started fires if that was an issue after the reboot. I don't know HOW close it was, but I assumed it wouldn't be an issue because of Llamacraft. I haven't really been on much recently :-\

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

Llamacraft works fine on the latest server; there haven't even been any updates (to the server) since fishing rods.

I would imagine that somebody didn't set their respective server-software to not automatically update the software, and so it saw the Llamacraft classes as "OUTDATED JAR" and downloaded a new one.

"somebody", he says.  :P
Do I sense some inter-server rivalry?  ;)

Ran into a separate issue with No-IP. Apparently the IP changed and there was a power outage simultaniously and something else happened.

I suspect the power lines around here are made of taffy.

As soon as I can, I'll have the server up and running again.

It's very probable that the IP change happened because of the power outage.

If you plug your DSL modem or cable modem into a UPS, your IP should survive any outage that doesn't take down the Telco exchange (which has battery backup), your third-party DSL provider if any, or your cable company's facility.

Oooh, acronyms.  I bet I could have dropped in some others, like DSLAM or colo.

Some places cannot put power lines beneath ground which, when there's a good breeze, can be problematic.

Is it? Where do you live?

I've never had a problem with constant power outages, nor have any of my friends.

I meant above ground power lines. I very very rarely have power outages, like once every few years.

It's the same in Canada.  Above ground lines and very few problems.
