I think it's a memory leak in the server software. It works fine for a day or two, then slows down and stops. Well, we're back now.

Can people not steal shit from my chests. Wool blocks, wheat, bonemeal and a duplicate record; ask, and I'll probably be happy to trade, but don't just take. That's my stuff that I had to go and get the hard way. That also extends to my garden; don't mess with it >:|

also, I tried the booster from spawn to clifton, and it didn't put me all the way there. needs to be longer, or double.

booster to moria works great, if a bit overpowered.

RE the booster to clifton; chuck a few... well... booster segments in the middle.

And it works just fine as an end on piece, but a gravity reset linear accelerator is functional, customisable and elegant. Also for an end on booster, have you considered door-based button operated boosters? Launches from a standing start at the push of a button, simple to build, and can be easily modified to fit mostly behind a sightscreen.

Oh I know, but it lacks the sexy button push start of the pic I just posted. Also, the disadvantage of that design is every 50 or so blocks you want to travel, you have to add another block of track perpendicular to the direction of travel as part of the booster loop. A smaller starter, coupled with inline accelerators where needed means a smaller footprint.
That said, my design is less efficient wrt actual track pieces, and doesn't quite have the wow factor of one booster launching you a 1000 blocks.
