Solifuge:  Whatever- let's just leave it at I don't trust you, because this is going nowhere.

Anyway, the Sexton issue.  There are lots of possibilities due to many possible roles, but I'm only going to go over the ones that don't involve far-fetched possible roles.   I think Eduren's status is the most important of the bunch.  Anyway:

1)  Eduren is town, and Lonewolf's resurrection was successful.
2)  Eduren is town, and Lonewolf's resurrection went badly.
3)  Eduren is a necromancer, and Lonewolf is now a zombie.
4)  Eduren is scum, and Lonewolf is now also scum.
5)  Eduren is scum, and Lonewolf stayed town.

Case 1 is pretty clear cut.  It means Jokerman is telling the truth, and Toony is lying.  Lynch Toony, done deal.
Case 2 is the same, except now Lonewolf is some third party.  With the low information we have about scum roles, we won't be able to easily tell the difference between the first two cases.  The best clue would be a second nightkill indicating that LW is now off killing people.
Case 3 is different.  This is the highest scumcount case.  In it, Eduren and Lonewolf both need to be taken out, and Toony is telling the truth.  The problem with this one is Jokerman's claim.  If they are both truly sextons, then they should have gotten the same result.  Why would Jokerman lie to cover a third party if he is scum?  The only benefit would be implicating ToonyMan as scum, which would be ruined if Toony (or Eduren) flipped town.  A one for one trade is not good for the scum team.  He might be thinking that an active SK (which I think the necromancer's zombie was discussed as acting as- a NK for the necro) would benefit the scum.  Possible, but not likely.
Case 4 is what I believe ToonyMan is claiming.  The cult could be death recruiters, and Jokerman is lying to protect Eduren.  The problem with this is that ToonyMan flipping town would unravel the entire cult, assuming an original cult of Org/Eduren/Jokerman.  I have suspected both Eduren and Jokerman, but this scheme seems a bit too far-fetched to be true.
Case 5 - see case 4, minus death recruiters.  LW was raised to try to confirm Eduren as town, instead.  Same problems as 4.

Bottom line is this:  An Eduren lynch would answer the most questions about what could have happened night 2, but I'll stick to the idea that ToonyMan is a lying scumbag.

IronyOwl:  I can change one player's target a night.  If A targeted B and I redirected A to C, A's action would hit C instead.  I'm not 100% sure how a redirected redirect would work.

I don't think anything new is going to happen in the next two days.

So unless anybody has new information, or wants try and defend Toony, I say we Shorten.

I'd like to make sure we've discussed everything to everyone's satisfaction before shortening. I'm particularly worried about not hearing from Archangel yet.

1)  Eduren is town, and Lonewolf's resurrection was successful.
2)  Eduren is town, and Lonewolf's resurrection went badly.
3)  Eduren is a necromancer, and Lonewolf is now a zombie.

Couple of issues here.

Case 1 suffers from the same problem you pointed out for Case 3- ToonyMan would be, at best, trading himself for Eduren. The added bonus of a lynch-triggered ability make it worth it, but you'd figure he'd try less to get himself lynched and more to get someone else lynched ahead of himself. Plus, claiming sexton is a weird way to do that- claiming thief that tailed your target to Mr.Person's house would be more straightforward, I would think.

Case 2 is as you say, save the issues with ToonyMan.

Case 3 seems unlikely to me, since assuming 3 scum and our ghoul, another third party would leave us at 7 town to 5 non-town; even with the ghoul just being a survivor, that seems a bit harsh. 2 scum and two third parties seems plausible, but a rather weird setup. There's also the question of just what necromancer's goal would be- we haven't been having secondary nightkills, so it seems necromancer in general wouldn't be an SK. It's possible he could be after raising bodies the way devil is after raising souls, but repeatedly raising SKs seems like it would demolish the game pretty much instantly, and an indirect SK just seems bizarre.

Case 4 is what I've been worried about, and it's the reason I'm highly suspicious of both Eduren and Jokerman right now. You're right that ToonyMan flipping town would bring down the whole cult, but if he flips scum, Eduren or especially Jokerman could seem cleared. That could be a good play for scum.

Case 5 is, as you say, Case 4 save that raising Lonewolf was to look town, not get another recruit.

To me, lynching ToonyMan will tell us about Eduren and Jokerman in theory, but it'll be much murkier than you might think. If he flips town, Jokerman is almost assuredly scum; but Eduren could still be a town priest whose ritual went badly. If he flips scum, he must have been trying to do something, which would seem to implicate Eduren and/or Jokerman, the two who seem like they'd be cleared.

Eduren's lynch has similar problems. If he flips town, we know Lonewolf is an accidental zombie (if ToonyMan is town or scum sexton who happens to want to tell us the truth) or normal town (if ToonyMan is scum). ToonyMan is town if Lonewolf is a zombie, and scum if he's not. Finally, Jokerman is probably scum if ToonyMan is town, but very, very possibly still scum if ToonyMan is scum. If Eduren is scum, ToonyMan could still be scum in on it, but if he's not Jokerman probably is.

Bottom line is, we can learn from lynching ToonyMan or Eduren, but neither is guaranteed to give us solid information on Jokerman, Lonewolf, or each other. In particular, ToonyMan flipping scum raises more questions than it answers.

The last vote count 8 posts ago, no-one's voted since then... ???

Really, there's no reason for a vote count.

I don't believe your earlier claims.  If you turn town, than I'll consider what you've said.

Add my vote to shorten

Solifuge and JanusTwoFace escort ToonyMan up to the gallows. He seems oddly calm about the whole thing.

"I'm not afraid to die", he sneers, "when the Great One is brought back I shall have a place at his side. A place of power over all of you!" He gestures wildly, causing Solifuge and Janus to grab his arms and drag him along.

"Yeah, we'll see about that." grumbles Janus.

Toony has a strange grin on his face as the noose is around his neck. "When I come back, it'll be your neck in the noose!" he cackles, before Solifuge kicks the stool out from under his feet. His legs kick wildly as he strains for breath, but eventually the kicking and twitching stops.

After cutting down the body you inspect it. He has a tattoo on his arm that looks very similar to the amulet that Org had. It seems you've found another Cultist after all. The court Priest also inspects the body, and declares that he was, indeed, a Sexton in charge of maintaining the graveyard.

You ponder this as you head off to your homes.

The next day dawns bright, but cool.

Those of you who are left gather in the square again. JanusTwoFace, however, is not among you.

Concerned, you head off to his house. You find his front door open, and his hat lying in the dirt. It seems he, like the others, is simply gone.

Looking around his house, you find a bewildering array of mystic tomes, arcane implements, and alchemical equipment. It is fairly obvious that he was a Wizard. Pity his power couldn't protect him from whoever attacked him last night.

Dismayed at the loss of such a powerful force for the town, you head back to begin today’s trial.

Damn it. I got a portent of "demonic power", so it seems likely that ToonyMan did, in fact, want to be lynched for a trigger-on-lynch ability.

Jokerman-EXE still worried me, because his claim would mean we had two sextons. For scum to falseclaim specifically to help lynch the role they're claiming to be sounds pretty bold, however, so at the moment it seems more likely town and scum both had one.

Solifuge, why did you ask for a votecount when it was obvious who would be lynched?

Toaster, what do you make of the notion that we have duplicates of two separate roles?

Archangel, this is pretty important and you have relevant information. Please get in here.
