Ok, we have a big problem now.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Holy cow, the stat boosts that sword gives are insane. The most any of your characters get in FE8 & FE9 from a holy weapon are +5 to one stat, maybe two. Can't quite remember what stat boosts Ragnell gives Ike, but that sword turns him into an unstoppable killing machine.

Is that pretty typical for this game? I can't remember if you posted the stats of the other holy weapons or not.

Oh my, I've completely forgotten to talk about the stat boosts the holy weapons give. Yeah, the boosts they give are pretty frickin' insane. It's justified though, as more than one person in the game explicitly describes the holy weapons as "The greatest weapons in all of creation", and the weapons themselves were originally wielded by the god's themselves. So yeah, they're pretty awesome.

Yeah though, those are pretty normal boosts for a holy weapon, the mistoltn is very special though, as not only does it have the critical ability attached to it, but it also boosts up the "Skill" attribute which determines the likelihood of getting a crtiical. Extremely powerful.

The Mistoltn is the second of the holy weapons we've gotten to see thus far, with the first being Fala Flame, which you could see being wielded by Lord Alvis in the prologue.

Watchin'

Also, I would take that Dew, or in case he is not accesible, then... um.

Any male mages there?

If not, gimme some young paladin or something.

Also, wow, it looks even better than FE's on GBA. JoshuaFH, this one is on SNES, right?

Pretty sure noone's claimed Dew.

Technically, it's only on the Super Famicom, as it was never released outside Japan.

Interesting bit of trivia, the sequel to this game, Fire Emblem 5: Thracia 776, was the very last game released for the Super Famicom. Atleast, that's what I've read.

From the wiki:
"The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (also known as the Super NES, SNES[cn 2] or Super Nintendo) is a 16-bit video game console that was released by Nintendo in North America, Europe, Australasia (Oceania), and South America between 1990 and 1993. In Japan and Southeast Asia, the system is called the Super Famicom"

So yeah, it's the same system basically :D

Close enough.

Alright, there's a brigade of Dragon Knights heading in on our location as fast as they humanly can, what do you do?

If you're me, then you pick a fight before they get here of course.

Why, this'll be easy.

Oh, it would seem there is a flaw in my master plan afterall... This is gonna require some ingenuity.

Alright, I aggro'd way too many enemies. Fortunately, the Dragons can be dealt with:

Their leader is a named character, but he has no relevance to the story so he might as well be a generic. He has a useful item though, a "Life" ring, which'll restore the health of it's user over time. The dragons are menacing, but they all have the fatal weakness to arrows, remember this.

Anyway, I have Fury deal the finishing blow to the guy, since it's something like tradition that I let her have the Life ring.

He also has a funny death quote. It's like he couldn't think of good last words, so he just goes "uh... GLORY TO THRACIA! *dies*".

Anyway, be sure to kill the dragons first, as they'll mercilessly gang-up on your weaker units, and the armours simply can't do the same.

With the proper tactics, and the brute force of my entire force slamming against them repeatedly, they are defeated.

We get a conversation once they're all good and dead:

Or more specifically, one guy talking to himself. This guy is never formally introduced, he's King Trabant of Thracia. Thracia is basically like a mercenary nation fully of dragon riders that people will hire in times of war. So that explains that.

So anyway, now he just have Shagaal:

Shagaal isn't as puny as he was 6 months ago, and he now has a droppable broad silver sword! Very nice. I have Holyn grind with him for a little bit, with Lechesis grinding by proxy by healing him, until they're both level twenty.

I then have Lechesis finish off a weakened Shagaal, using the Earth Sword that her brother had given her.

It's really cool that they get their own conversation, so that Lechesis can avenge her fallen brother.

Anyway, just before you seize Fort Silvail, have Fury start flying north towards the tower.

You know what time it is? It's time to upgrade Holyn!

He's promoted from Swordfighter to Forrest! Not alot in terms of upgrades besides better stats.

With Lechesis' new broad silver sword...

...I should probably get her to a castle, and clean out her inventory. Geeze, there's like 3 or 4 different scenes where people just give her stuff, and I've forgotten to give it to other people. She physically can't hold any more items.

Before that though, let's seize this Fort.

Shanan finally manages to catch up to Sigurd, and tell him the bad news! Sigurd is obviously very worried, but none of this "The love of my life has been abducted" nonsense can get in the way of important stuff, like murdering people.

In fact, we're gonna be murdering lots and lots and LOTS of people in the NEXT installment!

Just one thing to keep in mind.

North of Madino, there's a sheer cliff face. Have Dew (or anyone, really) stand at the very tip of it. This is meta to the extreme, but it helps for what I'm about to do.

Quick-edit: Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention that there's a village north of Silvail that'll give whoever saves it exactly ONE extra point of defense.

I've been doing some heavy duty playing, so expect some rapid-fire updates:

The Pirates up north are freaking out, thinking that we're going to go up there and kick their asses for raiding our villages (which we totally are) and Brigid is blaming them for not following orders and raiding when they shouldn't have raided. To retort, they say it's DYIN' TIME for her, since they don't want to follow her orders anymore. She promptly flees the castle.

Oh man, Brigid's been chased out of the castle, and now they're both hunting her down and attacking Agustria!

We zoom to Blagi Tower next:

Claude finally stops praying his ass off, and he's finally acquired the Valkyrie staff! The FIRST Holy Weapon that we can use! Oh yeah! What it does is that it can bring ANY dead unit back to life! Well, OUR dead units, not the enemy's. It only has one charge though, and it's EXTREMELY expensive to repair, but it's there if you want. There's also some sort of holy science behind it, but Tiltyu finds it far too boring to listen to.

But yeah, we have THREE new characters thrust upon us!

Brigid:

Brigid has extremely high stats for her level, and she's generally awesome all around. She has major Ulir blood, and she starts off pre-upgraded as a Sniper. She's gonna need every bit of her awesome though to survive being hunted by all her former comrades.

Claude:

Claude also starts off pre-upgraded as a High Priest, and at level 20 to boot. He starts off with one of the best healing staffs in the game, the reserve staff, which heals every single unit in a 10 square radius, and the Blagi Holy Weapon, the Valkyrie Staff. He can also use a C-rank magic if you bother to give him one.

Tiltyu:

Tiltyu starts off grossly underleveled for the point in the game you get her. Heck, two hits from any enemy is enough to kill her, which is why it's very hard to avoid death for her at this point in the game, especially since she starts completely surrounded by pirates with Claude, far away from allied support.

Now, there some stuff I want to take care of first before I do anything.

Firstly, let's upgrade Lechesis:

Lechesis upgrades from Princess to Master Knight! This is a HUGE upgrade for her. Just look at this sillyness:

She get's pursuit, and a TON of A-ranks in more weapons than you can ever plan to use her for.

I sort out her inventory, and buy a bunch of A-ranks of each weapon, so now she's a well-rounded powerhouse.

For those that don't know, that's a Silver Spear, Broad Silver Sword, and a Silver Axe. She's hitting the entire weapon spectrum by herself. Now she can totally fuck anyone's shit up.

Next, we're having Ethlin totally TALK to Cuan:

and we get our SECOND holy weapon, the Gae Bolg! It's a crazy awesome spear:

Alright, now that all that's out of the way, let's get back to out and out murderizing.

The pirates waste no time rushing down the bridge they've hastily constructed north of Madino. Fortunately for me, I had the foresight to place Dew right at the exit of the bridge, stopping them in their tracks. With them funneled like they are, he has no problem just killing them one by one, gaining a TON of money in the process, as these pirates have 5000 gold each! That's way more than the average unit.

Anyway, Brigid, Claude, and Tiltyu are in a ton of trouble, as they need to hold back the pirate horde by themselves until help arrives, which is being blocked by the solid mass of pirates that are blocking the only entrance to the peninsula they're on. That, and the vast majority of units are still near Fort Silvail, place them as far as they can humanly be from helping them.

So what we need to do here is, remember how I said to have Fury keep flying north over the ocean, as she's the only unit of yours capable of reaching them in time.

Take your sweet time boys, time is certainly not of the essence.

Back up with Brigid, have her keep heading west, through this narrow beach path. You really have no choice but to hope to god that the RNG holds out, and that her high stats can protect her from harm.

Once Fury reaches them, you can make a pretty snazzy funnel at the entrance of the Tower of Blagi. Just be sure to pick off the pirate archers before they can target Fury, and you're pretty good to go!

They're numbers mean NOTHING!

And remember, even though Claude only has 10 uses of the reserve staff, don't be afraid to burn through them in order to keep everyone alive.

Here, I have Fury equipped with a Slim Sword and a Slim Spear, which offers her the most evasion for weapons of their type.

Anyway, remember the funnel at the bridge north of Madino? Keep killing the pirates there, but DON'T, I repeat, DON'T kill the named character leading them, Pizarl.

Want to know why? Because once you kill all but two of his squadron of pirates, he flees the battle, back to his castle...

and comes back out with 11 more pirates! You can repeat this process as many times as you want, and he'll keep running away and bringing you more pirates to kill. The pirates are by no stretch of the imagination difficult, but they're high enough level to offer decent experience, and they all have the 5000 gold that Dew can farm for monstrous amounts of cash. This is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the single best place in the game to grind your weak characters up to snuff with the rest of your stronger characters. While not necessary, this is extremely useful for curbing the exponentially more difficult challenges which lie ahead of us.

Now, I'm not one to approve of grinding, but it's very difficult to keep your weak characters on par with your stronger ones, since they can't see as much time on the front lines as your stronger characters without risking certain death, which means they get less exp, which means they see less battle, and it's just a cyclical effect that keeps your weak characters weak and your strong characters strong. This can balance things out though since the pirates can be butchered in a very controlled manner that reaps consistent amounts of experience.

Also, it serves another, arguably more useful purpose which I'll reveal in the next update.

For now, I'm just going to smash wave after wave after wave of pirates in order to grind my weak characters up to an acceptable level.

Alright, let me reveal the spoils of my shameless grinding:

Alec transitions from a Social Knight to a Paladin. Ontop of his improved stats, I've given him the Hero Sword to compensate for the fact that he's has an inferior strength stat when compared to alot of units, something that's not acceptable for a combat unit, and this is fix with the extra hits granted by the Hero Sword. Aira doesn't mind, she's good regardless of what weapon she has.

Speaking of Aira, she upgrades from a sword fighter to a Sword Master. She get's improved stats, and best of all, the Continue skill added to her repertoire. I have her using the Light Sword so she can ping units with the magic attack it confers, effectively increasing her attack range by one square.

Fury upgrades as well. She gets the continue skill, and an affinity for staffs that don't intend on using at the moment.

Getting Tiltyu from level 4 to level 20 is an easy feat with infinite pirates on your side. She dies really easy though, so take it slow with her. She gets Continue, and her improved stats elevate her into total badass territory.

Jamka upgrades to a sniper only succeeds in making an awesome thing even more awesome.

Beowulf is actually VERY decent once you pour some experience on him. He gets his A-rank in swords, and little else though. He might've gotten continue, I can't remember.

Levin upgrades from a bard into a Sage. His proficiency in magic increases all around, and he can use staffs now.

Midir upgrades from a archknight to a Bowknight, whoopee! Still mediocre, but he's gonna be getting a big handout from the game pretty soon though, so I don't mind.

Anyway, let's do something that's going to be awesome, and is actually pretty easy to miss if you don't care about conversations one bit.

Have Aideen talk to Brigid!

Turns out, Brigid is Aideen's long lost sister! She proves it by giving her the Holy Bow Ichival! Yay! The third holy weapon to come under our control!

The Ichival is, as far as stats are concerned, the strongest of the Holy Weapons, since not only does it have the standard 30 power that all the holy weapons (not including the Valkyrie Staff) have, but it gives the user 10+ strength, effectively making it a 40 power weapon. For those that have never played this game before, just let me tell you that combined with Brigid's already high strength stat, she can effectively one-shot any enemy this point in the game has to offer with a 62 power attack.

If only there were a way to also give her the critical ability, then she'd also have a random chance of doing a 124 power attack, which is absurd in every way. If only... oh wait, there IS!

Allow me to divulge to you a secret that, I believe, the game never hints at, inspite of it being completely awesome in every way:

Now, notice in every weapon's stat screen, there's a little star with a number right next to it? Every time you kill an enemy with that weapon, that counter goes up by one. Get it up to 50, and that weapon gains the CRITICAL skill permanently! Every single weapon has this counter, and the game remembers it so you can exchange the weapon between your characters. What more, is that for every kill on the weapon above 50, the chance of a critical occurring increases by 1%. That's crazy awesome.

Now, with this knowledge in hand, and an infinite supply of pirates, I'm going to take FULL advantage of this mechanic for great effect!

Weapons I get to 50+ kills:

Slim sword 2x
Light sword
thunder sword
Silver sword 1x
slim spear
hero sword
Ichival

and that's all that I've personally deemed necessary. I COULD do the other hero weapons, but I already have out-and-out overkill happening all over the place, no use in overdoing it. For counting purposes, this is over 400 pirates mercilessly butchered.

Oh, and before I forget:

If you have Dew go WAY out of his way and travel to Blagi Tower, he'll snoop around inside and steal a Wind Sword, our third magic sword.

Just for fun, I snapped a shot of one of Aira's and Dew's critical animations, as fighters and thieves have the best animations in the entire game as far as I'm concerned.

She's doing this with a broken sword, mind you. Told you she's good with any weapon.

Now, let us continue with some very serious game playing. Pizarl, the guy that's been shoveling pirates into my mouth for I don't know how many hours, finally needs to die in order for me to continue the game. He's despicably easy, so that's no problem, but what you might want to keep in mind is that he has a Leg ring which will increase the equipped user's movement by an entire 3 points! This is incredibly useful no matter who it's on, but you might want to tactically place it onto a unit you feel would benefit from it the most. I've chosen Levin, but I could have just as easily have chosen Dew, Brigid, or Aideen. If not one of the slower characters, then you can place it on a unit that already has impressive movement, like Fury, in order to give her an unbelievable wealth of movement points so she can jet from one edge of the map to the other for no particularly good reason at all.

Then we have Rebarl, the self-appointed pirate leader, who drops a Power Ring, which increases the strength of it's wearer by 5 points. The pirates are just giving us presents left and right, it's so sad that the only repayment I can conjure up is horrible death.

I have Fury mercy kill this poor man, and she nets the ring. Her strength is always a tad lower than everyone elses, and I plan on only letting her use the 'slim' brand weaponry in order to increase her evasion, compensating for her barely decent defense as well.

Look's like the cavalry's finally rode into Agustria to apprehend Sigurd for his supposed assassination conspiracy to kill Prince Kurth.

Unfortunately, we don't get the option of duking it out with them, where I'd probably win, but the story has other plans.

Conveniently enough, some Silesian Pegasus Knights fly into town and offer to escort him and his troops to Silesia, as the Queen doesn't think he's guilty of any wrongdoing and wishes to harbor him until his name is cleared.

Cuan, Ethlin, and Fin all decide that they'd best stay out of this one and head back home to see if they can straighten things up over there. They all leave the party. Dawww! They all take whatever they had equipped at the time with them, including Cuan's Gae Bolg, which he can't sell. I hope you sold all of their belongings beforehand. Well, don't sell Fin's belongings, as he's going to be serving another purpose later in the game and he NEEDS to be fully equipped to handle it properly.

And like that, everyone is whisked away, across an ocean, to Silesia, where our next chapter will begin!

Alright, let's get back to playing Fire Emblem, and endure one of the longest opening chapter conversations in the game!

Like, seriously, using fast forward and auto-fire to skip through the pages as fast as possible, the whole scene still takes like a full minute.

In short:

Sigurd's all grateful to queen Rahna.

Levin's all kissing up to his Mom, who's like totally angry at him for bailing on his royal responsibilities. She tells him to "Come to Silesia Later", it's best to keep that in mind.

Cuan, Ethlin, and Fin all say their farewells and officially depart back to Lenster to help Sigurd out in the future.

Silesian royalty are all plotting to attack Sigurd because he just so happened to have plotted his fat ass on some hot Silesian property that Queen Rahna gave them to stay at until things back in Grandbell cool down.

That's basically all of it in a nutshell.

If Aideen and Midir are in a relationship during this mission, a TALK opportunity opens between them. I suggest you pursue it:

And Aideen gives her lover Midir a Hero Bow! This is a vast improvement over his previous, more sucky bow.

It's at this point that I remember that I forgot to take pictures of the map in order to give you guys a rough understanding of what everything looks like. I was too caught up in playing the game. I'll do it next time, you guys aren't missing much.

And by next time, I mean I'm doing it right now because I feel dumb.

Alright, map time:

Here's Castle Sai, our home castle. it's near the south-western portion of the map.

Our units will be proceeding North-east, through a punch of patches of forests and paths.

In the Most North-eastern section of the map is Thove, our current destination. It's completely cut off from us at the present point and time excepting only...

these mountains, which units can move through, but at an incredibly slow pace.

At the bottom-most section of the map, there's Castle Silesia, the capital.

Then finally, there's Castle Zaxon. It's located just north-east of Castle Silesia, just a stone's throw away practically.

Now, back to what we were doing. Just North-East of our starting positions is a large group of magi that we need to mop up if we intend to pass through, which we do.

Careful though, they have this loser on their side. He has a sleep staff, but if you stage a quick offensive, he'll spend all his turns healing instead of trying to hinder you.

Now, magi require some trepidation if you want to get through this battle unscathed, you must realize that almost all of your units have pitiful Magic Resistance, and thus will take major damage from magi. To combat this, make sure that your units with low resistance are always just out of harms way, like mine are in this picture. Levin, Sigurd, and Dew are closer than everyone else due to them being very apt to avoid the attacks, or just soak up the damage no problem. Sigurd in this scenario has a barrier ring, which increases Magic Defense.

The loser goes down with no problems, of course.

We have another problem though:

Pegasus Knights from Thove have been making their way to our position since Chapter-start, and we have to deal with them the moment the last mage is finished off. They all have slim weaponry, and are a tad difficult to hit for the less 'skill' endowed characters, but they're all relatively weak, fortunate since we're in a movement compromising position in these woods. They're led by a Falcon Knight named Deetva, who is a tad more stat endowed than her sisters-in-arms, but no problem besides that. Remember, bows are SUPER EFFECTIVE against flying units!

In fact, the battle ends so quickly that it's not even worth mentioning.

Now we have this small group of losers to take care of. They're nothing, but you should take in consideration that they have our second incidence of long-range magic, blizzard.

It has huge range, but it's incredibly inaccurate. Only a real threat to you're weaker and slower units.

Now, castle Thove is seemingly cut off from us, what will we do about that? Well, I'll try to update soon so you can FIND OUT!

Oh god I just realized I took way too many pictures... so that means this is going to be a DELUXE update!

There's some armours across the river with javelins, by having a unit like Levin stand on the opposite side, you can provoke them into attacking him and kill them in droves as a result. Just make that you don't get in over your head here.

Anyway, we have a river in front of us! How will we ever be able to get across?

If you paid attention to a small cutscene, the guy that controls the bridge says that the mechanism is controlled with a lock. Also, a village no more than 10 feet away explicitly tells you that you can get through if you have a thief in your party. I missed this the first time I played the game, and so I stupidly went through the mountains like an obstinate moron. So yeah, just have Dew stand right there, and he'll lower the bridge for us.

So the remainder of the loser guards are easy enough to mop up, in fact, alot of the enemies in this chapter'll be super easy due to all my insane grinding. The next chapter will be cranking things straight up into "blatantly unfair" though, so I have no regrets.

The leader of the castle is this loser, who has the A-rank wind magic at his command, Tornado!

Which is doesn't get to use, not even once. 99 kill slim sword will be handling most enemies this way.

Anyway, I'm gonna meta a little bit here, and refrain from seizing the castle right away. Instead, have whoever you have controlling the return staff and warp staff start teleporting everyone back to Castle Sai, your home castle, with the exception of ONE strong unit, which'll serve an important function later. I'm choosing Lechesis, but you could just as easily choose Levin, Sigurd, Lex, or whoever else has a 1~2 range weapon (meaning that it can hit things that are both close and long range).

While we teleport everyone back to Sai, let's have Sylvia do something interesting first.

There's a village right here, you can get an item. This particular bit of the game is glitched though, and there's a very high probability of the game crashing if you try to have Sylvia save the village. There's a way around this though, you have to save the game with the in-game save function, then you have to use whatever feature your emulator has to mimic a hard reset of the game console, then you load up your saved game and Sylvia should have no problem saving the village. If not, then repeat the process and try again.

So basically, Sylvia saves the village, and then dances for the people to cheer them up. They give her a Defense Sword as a token of gratitude!

This is an excellent weapon. It's C-rank, it has 90 accuracy. It has 12 power. It gives +7 defense and it's only drawback is it's 5 weight, which is forgivable. The defense sword is special in that it's one of two of the only non-legendary weapons that give stat boosts. The defense sword is wasted on Sylvia, give it to someone else.

On another note, because there's nothing requiring my attention, I'm going to spend the next 40 turns having my preferred couples stand next to eachother to gain love points.

I manage to get enough points in this process to solidify my Lechesis!Levin, Azel!Sylvia, and Ardan!Tiltyu pairings. The only pairings remaining are my Holyn!Brigid and Alec!Fury pairing, easily accomplished within the next chapter.

An interesting thing I found while teleporting everyone back to Sai, is that I remember that certain couples will have a conversation if they're in the castle at the same time!

But this is one of many parts of the game that are untranslated, and you only get gibberish no matter which pairing it is. I can certainly imagine though it's full of "OH GOD I LOVE YOU SO MUCH HNNG!".

Alright, this is enough fooling around, NOW seize Thove castle, and prepare to spend a lot of time reading.

Turns out the guys at Thove rejoice because the other dude was an asshole.

The guys at Zaxxon send out their own Pegasus Knights, with a lady named Pamela leading them.

Queen Rahna responds in kind by sending out her own, lead by most the most insignificant side-character of all time, Mahnya.

This battle between the pegasus knights is occurring in an area that the game forbids our characters from moving into. Not even Fury can get close to assist, as we can't move any character of ours within their area of domain. So all we can do is watch as they slug it out.

But then all of a sudden, a bunch of mean fucking Archknights pop out of nowhere and start fucking her shit up!

Mahnya doesn't stand a chance in hell, all those archknights have hero bows, and they're led by a guy named Andre, who has a shield ring ontop of that.

So Mahnya dies, dawww!

DAAAWWWWW!

So I've been using all my time to get all my guys right in front of this bridge, which is blocked off by one neutral mage, and I have Lechesis guarding Thove, which is significant because of:

Pamela get's ordered to fly above the mountains and try to capture Thove, which I'll have none of!

So Andre captures Silesia, which we could do nothing about...

And Queen Rahna has her citizens flee the castle for their lives.

Anyway, NOW we can rush into Silesian territory!

It's in your best interests to save these citizens. Why? They're pathetic.

And, when you save one, the character that helped them gains one 100 experience automatically. That's exactly one level up for any character not already at the level cap.

Let's take a detour with this LP though, I want to show off the Valkyrie staff, but everyone's too strong to die! What do I do? I rig up up the circumstances to kill off one of my own characters easy.

Daw! Sorry Midir!

But we can revive you! but how?

If Claude is in the home castle, you can have him use a 'staff' option that's present in the character action menu. Then select the Valkyrie staff, then select the character you want to revive.

Hey look, Midir's OK again! But the Valkyrie Staff is broken now, as it only has 1 use. Fortunately (Unfortunately?) though, it costs 50,000 gold to repair it, a trivial amount to Dew.

Anyway, back to castle sacking.

This castle is guarded by this loser, who dies so easily that I forgot to take of a picture of it. He will be unremembered.

Now, once Pamela's knights get to Thove, let's do something sneaky with Lechesis.

Little do they know, I've outfitted Lechesis with a Silver Bow and a Wind Sword.

Here's a trick: you can have her abandon her position in the castle, and then quickly ping off Pamela with a bow, which she's weak against due to being a flyer, then have Lechesis quickly run back inside and guard the castle with the Wind Sword equipped. You NEED a 1~2 range weapon in this scenario, since all those pegasus knights have javelins, which are 1~2 range weapons. This means that if you have a close range only weapon, they'll all take turns attacking from afar, but if you use a long range only weapon, they'll all take turns attacking up close. You need both so they can't get free hits on you, and this group is significantly weakened without their prize fighter Pamela bringing the hurt.

Alrighty-O, let's seize Silesia and save Queen Rahna.

Sigurd politely asks Queen Rahna if he can take the enemy's heads, and shove them right up their asses. Queen Rahna consents.

Will we be able to inflict severe anal trauma to Lord Daccar? Will Lechesis be able to fight off the horde of Pegasus Knights by her lonesome? Find out next time on Fire Emblem 4: Genealogy of the Holy War!

Alright, MOAR UPDATE!

Lord Daccar is all angry and stuff about us taking away the castle he took. So now he's sending his elite hitsquad to take care of us.

This group of units is ACTUALLY formidable, let us take a closer look at them.

For one, we have Lamia herself who's a statistically impressive swordmaster in her own right, but then she has accompanying swordfighters with hero swords, swordfighters with sleep swords (swords that put units to sleep when they hit), and bowfighters with killer bows! This is one well-equipped squad, and we'll have to employ special tactics to handle them without worry.

Before that though, we have to worry about Lechesis! Can she possible defend herself against all those Pegasus Knights?

Yes she can, very easily in fact. From the second picture, there's only one left standing after the first round of fighting is done.

Now, before we fight those guys, let's do something else that's pivotal in importance first. Have Levin go into Castle Silesia.

AND we get the Holy Tome Holsety! Holsety is insanely powerful in every way, and makes the game trivially easy when you apply it liberally to every challenge in the game.

Take note that she says that the way of Holsety is to 'never be confused with violence', and I have to disagree, since I'm going to be using it to kill everything I damn well please.

Look at this insanity:

Levin... has 50 Speed! FIFTY!!! Only the most accurate enemies in the game could hope to hit him now! He can run face-first into danger, and just DODGE everything that comes his way.

That sounds really simple, but it's absurd, especially with all the damage he'll be pouring out with his 57 power magic attacks that'll almost always hit due to his 33 skill. The urge to abuse this power is unimaginable.

It's too bad he's late to the party, and the battle is already underway.

Now, this group of fighters is VERY well equipped, and could very easily take down a unit if we're not careful. however, they have good stats, and they have good weapons, but you know what they don't have? Horses. You might as well slap a big sticker on their heads that says "Please rape me with your mounted units" right before they run straight out to the battlefield, which is a flat plain with a huge streak of roads on it, making it the most ideal place for mounted units ever.

So, basically, while they're advancing, the plan here is to coax their units into attacking one by one, while having my mounted units simultaneously retreat and kill off the offending units, and then once they're nice and weakened, completely overrun them with crushing speed and strength. Aim for the sleep sword units last, since they're not that strong, and you don't need to worry about them if the actual killing units are already dead.

As a note, if any of your units are accidentally put to sleep, then you can restore them to normal with the Restore staff that Aideen or somebody should be carrying.

Now the only person we have left to deal with is Lord Daccar.

Oh, and if you haven't already, have Lechesis teleport back home:

You don't need to, but I love that animation. Looks like she's being abducted by aliens.

So what should we do about that badass Lord Daccar?

If you said "One-shot his ass with Brigid" then you're absolutely correct. An Ichival critical will kill anything, anywhere. Also, performed offscreen: I outfitted Brigid with the Leg ring and Knight ring, so now she can keep pace with the mounted units, and kick atleast 3 times as much ass over time, if not more.

Now, just seize the castle and BOOM! Chapter complete.

Sigurd comes to the revelation that he needs to head down to Grandbell and kick some serious ass, because Duke Reptor and Langbart have been running around and having their way for far too long, and it's seriously pissing him off. So they head off, to KICK ALOT OF ASS!

and INTRODUCE ALOT OF FRIVOLOUS CHARACTERS!

I eagerly await to see how things become ridiculously unfair, because things don't look particularly challenging right now.
