Hais.  I've had this a few times and I'm not sure if it's a bug or I'm missing something that the wiki isn't telling me.  I want to make steel (but pig iron would be a nice start :3).

I have
- Iron (so much iron!) in both ore and bar form.
- Flux (so much flux) in the form of marble.
- Carbon in the form of charcoal, and for completeness, 3 bars of coke from a caravan.
- Access to all of the above from my smelter's locations with no locked doors or burrow limitations.  The bar stockpile is right next to the smelters, and my furnace operators have no problem clambering over marble on their way to ores.

Yet pig iron simply doesn't show up on the list .  I'm using magma smelters if that makes any difference.

Try requesting Pig Iron to be made via the manager menu.  Sometimes an item can bug out and not appear on the list, but can be made via the manager menu ('j' then 'm').

Or.....

Any chance you've forbid any of your items in the stocks menu? Marble perhaps? I know I've done that before.

Try requesting Pig Iron to be made via the manager menu.  Sometimes an item can bug out and not appear on the list, but can be made via the manager menu ('j' then 'm').

No problem - I believe Toady is aware of this one.  The soap issue has been around for ages at any rate - and it has a workaround, so it's probably low priority.
